A big welcome Dan,
Love the capture of the gesture of both subjects which produces a story.
Also, even the cigar is pointing in juxtaposition in the same direction with the finger.
Well captured Dan...colin

Hi Dan,
A big welcome and many thanks for your kind words.
I am so thrilled that this image inspired you to grab your camera and to hit the streets.
What grabbed my eye so much was the colour of both of the subject's hair, for once I had more than a split second to capture the image which is a rare occasion.
Thank's again Dan...colin

Hi Beverley, thank you so much for your comment, I agree about the lines, the only reason that I decided to leave them was that they were providing a frame and also a juxta position of the two set of lines at the same angle. Many thanks Beverley...colin |

Hi Beverly,
This image to me, evokes a sense of sadness, the capture of paper and material seen at the bottom right which connects the now destruction to the time when the building was used in better times.
I believe that the original image may have shown a better view without cropping. Having cropped and removed the pillar in the middle of the image has produced a messy area within the left arch where the pillar was situated....colin

Hi Karen,
This image, as Beverly described , certainly does evoke many questions as to why the lady is wearing a bow.
A slight vignetting may help to concentrate one's eye on the subject and to lower the exposure from the background window.
Congratulations on capturing the moment without being seen.....colin |

Hi Richard,
To me the child in the foreground with the balloon helps to lead my eye into the image. Once there, I see a story of everyone abiding by the sign 'one way'.
Much other interests going on with the lady gesturing with her hands and her friend's facial expression of agreement. The lady carrying the child, to me is the main subject holding her child with much care and affection.
It's a pity that the girl to the right has seen the photographer.
A great monochrome capture......colin

Hi Bill,
I like this image, love the facial expression which 'tell's a story'.
To me the lady on the left is very important to the image, it is a connection between the two subjects that adds to the expression.
Also the high contrast of the yellow cup and blue bag on the table helps to hold one's attention on the main subjects.
Good control of the lighting on the main subject's face.
Well seen and well captured decisive moment Bill.....colin
