I like how the lighting falls over the door and whiskey casks combined with the fall-off to shadow on the left side. The black and white enhances the door with it's textures and shapes. The corrugated building walls echo the planks in the door which is nice.
The lens flare did bother me when I first looked at this capture and if you hadn't mentioned it, I would have believed it was a processing problem.
Very nice. |

This capture is a study in different textures. The stones, rough and smooth, the door with it's studs and areas that are varnished and areas where the varnish is worn off completed by the flaking paint off the Combe sign. Also the wrought iron fixtures keep your eyes moving around the picture. I liked the cropping where you see only part of the door outlined by the smooth stone frame. |

I'm always attracted to geometrics and this capture of a "door" was much enjoyed. Loved the colors, shapes and how you are pulled into the picture with the zigzag floor panels and light beams sneaking in from another room.
Another plus was the colors - which are complementary - green and oranges.
Great capture. |

It is amazing that although there are so many colors in this capture, my eyes found the subject of the door right away. The "Romeo" balcony wrapped around the door is a great addition. Also the louvered door mimics the lined panels on the walls. Also, the painted shape in the lower left bottom, somewhat looks like a person looking at the upper door and balcony.
Good seeing and capture. |

Hi Tim,
The partially opened door - as presented by just its door handle -- makes you want to know what the view is like outside. Also, the woven part of the glass reminds me of the mask I need to wear to go outside, thereby representing the world we're living in today. |
