Hi Lauren
Totally agree with all Karl has said, so I just tried putting a gaussian blur over the background. It looked really good and made your swan really pop and the lovely detail became even more obvious. Trouble is when I tried to add it here, it disappeared into the ether....as did my words on Karl's image. Gremlins!! Anyway, great image.....blur the background and it's greater :-)
All the best for a great New Year! |

A bit of fun Karl! Birds and earrings and bed headpieces. I rather like what Marie has done, accentuating the bird. For me, there are too many distractions with the s and the shadows of s......there seems to be a story about the earring so instead of having everything so open, I think I would steep it in a bit of mystery and have bit of , but the focus on the earring. I've taken the liberty of doing a snap edit too, to provide an idea of what I mean. Interesting, the different ways in which our minds and imaginations work!!!

Hi Marie
Lovely! Well seen and well captured. The gold makes for a rather festive triptych, but the images also look good on the black background....just a matter of experimenting and finding what pleases you.
I think you've done a great job and wouldn't change a thing.
Have a great Xmas and hope all going well in your area with the pandemic!!

Hi Sandra....I rather like your original : -)
I didn't make the Xmas connection either....I was thinking more paint spill as it's quite a splat.
My eye keeps going to the purple colours to the right and that spot of light down the bottom. Marie's suggestion is a great one as it will give the viewer a little more of an idea of what is being portrayed.
It's great fun experimenting, isn't it! You never know what you're going to get!
Have a great Xmas and keep having fun with that camera!

You're experimenting with Pep Ventosa...gosh and lots of things. Lovely to be able to work things together into a composite like that....I would get a bit lost along the way.
Interesting,, Peter and I love to see images in frames. I think it's rather fun to have the image guide you and not really know what the outcome may be.
There are white dots, left top...not sure if they are part of the image. I'm not really clear on what's going on lower right....perhaps my monitor is showing too dark. I think it's a very interesting attempt at compositing, but perhaps needs a little refining. For some reason I'd like to see the seagull just slightly more into the image.....I think it's a balance thing....he's quite sharp compared to the rest of your image...perhaps that is intentional?? To be honest, I don't think my screen is perhaps doing the image justice. Sorry.
Have a wonderful Xmas break! |

Loved your story Judith....and love the comments and extensions of imagination from everyone else. I see a Star Wars version of the hoodie! Or the caped one swirling gold. Sky's the limit.
Interesting capture, but after all this, not sure if I would want whatever's lurking inside, on my wall. I like Peter's idea of a border to define parameters.
Have wonderful Xmas break and thanks for getting our images out there over the past 12 months!
