79 Jul 20 Reply Thanks May. Jul 28th
79 Jul 20 Reply Yes...thanks Judith. The expression and the straw are a lovely contrast; I agree. Jul 28th
79 Jul 20 Reply Thanks Lauren. It is quite feathered......I wonder if lightening the blacks may help...... Jul 28th
79 Jul 20 Reply Good point Karl! Maybe another reason why, subconsciously, I preferred the BW version...hadn't thought about it from that point of view. Jul 28th
79 Jul 20 Comment Oh dear! You are dead right Marie. How did I not see those lines! I think you are right about the nose too....it's pulling the eye in, isn't it.
I thought of removing the straw Sandra, but sort of liked the goofy look it gave my shaggy friend. If it were a serious image, I think I probably would.

79 Jul 20 Comment Hi Judith.....I don't know quite what to make of this to be honest. Maybe I would have desaturated the ground surrounding the mushroom, to make the shape stand out......and maybe remove the brown and white gunky bits inside the mushroom. The colour and texture are interesting and I can understand why you were drawn to it. Very unusual! Jul 10th
79 Jul 20 Comment Hi May.....not sure I fully understand your title, but I do like your image. There are no clues for me in the black and white as to summer. I see movement, contrast and there's mystery in the shadows. The tree is nicely positioned in the top third and lends balance and contrast. I think it would be helpful to remove the diagonal in the top right corner as it's a little distracting. Lovely image May and very much in your unique style! Jul 10th
79 Jul 20 Comment Hi Sandra....great red/green contrast! Your leaves are perhaps a little overexposed and Marie has done a nice job of bringing them back a little. I think I like the darker background as well as the shadows whilst interesting are actually a little distracting. Nicely seen. Jul 10th
79 Jul 20 Comment Very nice Lauren! Beautifully saturated colours. Overcast days are often great opportunities to capture wonderful colours. I do wonder about the composition and if it could have been more balanced. There is a green space of leaves in the centre, one with a curve. I feel the irises themselves, are the main subjects. The ones on the side have been chopped off. There are some very good websites with ideas on how to compose flower shots which might be useful. Jul 10th
79 Jul 20 Comment I like your foray into photojournalism Karl. Your protestor looks as if she is in total despair. Hardly surprising in the circumstances. I realise you can't change the image with it being photojournalism, so would crop that head a bit......you would still see the protester's fingers holding her protest sign. Great image...captures a moment! You're a very versatile photographer! Jul 10th
79 Jul 20 Comment I like them both. Gorgeous colour and I like the blur although My eye really wants that full flower in focus for some reason. It's a really lovely effect Marie.

I might have tidied up the little areas along the top border and along the right side and not sure if you need all the little bits a pieces in the foreground.

Keep up the great work!

I know you're learning LR, but have you held the Option key whilst pressing Auto in PS curves. You'll get a drop down which provides different effects using curves.
