Hi May....I agree with the comments above and would love to know the answers to the questions. I do like your image although the completely blown out area is a bit distracting. There seem to be quite a few human forms, is that correct? The colour palette particularly appeals. |

Thanks Lauren and Judith......yes Judith, I felt the original image was quite strong, but it was just another nice portrait of local busker. I needed the image to tell more of a story about him...... |

Thanks Cheryl. Great to have you drop by :-) It's wonderful how textures can bring more to an interpretation of an image. |

Happy 2020 Sandra!! An interesting image, but not one that's grabbing me, although it maybe has potential. It has spooky quality for sure and that tree is certainly eerie. I think you've had fun learning about and messing with camera motion! It's certainly interesting! Perhaps the light behind the spooky tree could have been increased to contrast the shape and thus drawing the eye a little. Maybe a vignette? |

Best wishes for 2020 Lauren! A lovely image. The flowers have come up well with the high key treatment. I love the spidery lines and the raggedy ends. A nice composition. I can't make up my mind re the stalks. I didn't think twice about them at first. Then I decided that they were an interesting juxtaposition....strength and fragility and I think that's it.......but I keep wondering what could make them better. Do they detract a little? The flowers are so delicate and delightful on their own. Can't decide....what does everyone else think?
Anyway which way, it's a beautiful image!

Hi Karl
Happy New Year! A very dramatic start! I was there last year and awestruck by the mountain landscapes in the area. Just stunning. Didn't allow myself enough time. This image does justice in black and white and I like the way the ridge moves to the swirl and then to the towers...a nice leading line. Is there any detail on the towers? Suspect there is and my monitor isn't doing the job. There's some lovely detail on the foreground rocks. Nice that you've introduced drama into the clouds. Lovely image. |

Hi Judith
Wow, that's impactful! Interesting colour palette and there's an abstract bird or mask that can be conjured up. I think the image may be made a little stronger if that overexposed line is taken out as the eye keeps moving there and there's no information inside it at all. I wonder if you could bring a little more information out of the black areas middle and right as well. Perhaps tidy up the little pinprick of light in the "eye" and another couple lurking around. Other than that, it's an interesting and powerful image! I think you achieved what you set out to do! |
