Thanks everyone - I will try straightening that ground line! Now that you've pointed it out, it's irking me :-) |

Hi Susan.....nice to meet you! I really enjoyed your image. The composition is lovely and the colours work deliciously together. Your post production has done wonderful things to the textures...lovely feathering, but still maintaining the contrasty sharper seed pod. Wonderful piece! |

This made me smile Karl! Initially I thought your glasses were ears. What fun! I like it and can imagine the endless opportunities! I have interesting light in the shower room at home too...must think of ways to use it. I wonder if you could crop the image so that the dark areas provide a frame and keep the eye within or did you have a reason for having it as is? I keep looking at the finger bits extending outside. Great idea to turn the flaw into the broken heart. Clever. A very interesting composition! |

What a great idea Judith! The results are lovely. I like that you have chosen black and white, allowing the curves and veiny textures to predominate. I like the diagonal perspective which adds a dynamic to the image...I wonder if it would work with the frame flipped horizontal so the eye finishes on the end of the leaf rather than the end of the stem? I can imagine this in a lovely white frame with lots of mat.
Was there a reason for shooting at f22?
Beautiful image! All that work really paid off. |
