Pete,
An iconic town/city Courthouse with a nice dome and clock.
A couple of ideas for you to consider: The courthouse could come down a bit in luminance which I did in LR by selecting subject and dropping the highlights. I also used the PS remove tool to declutter the area around the tombstone. I know it is removing history but I went for a simpler view

Michael,
I applaud your work here, the pillars are done perfectly, the clouds look good, perfectly masked. I offer that the two subjects could be a bit larger. You are creating a large scale road surface and thus the subjects were left unchanged.
Just my reaction to a well conceived composite

Mark,
Mr Meyerson offered you solid advice. The lad with his phone adds interest. There should be a few folks in Lisbon to include in your street shots.
Looking forward to see next months image

Thanks Pete
Emphasizing the tree (or the 3 trees) on the point is an interesting idea and certainly draws the eye into the frame. I would like to dodge the foliage if am able, with the tree on the point being the lightest. I would like to keep the darker tone on the right side of the frame just to have some mystery.

Chris,
Well seen. I like the story it conveys to me. They are working in a measured fashion having done this drill for many days, in a small kitchen. Looks like they have sufficient stock but I am an amateur here.
I like it

No drone photography for you when you pilot a Bell Helo...The overhead look is captivating.
I like your composition, the boats are positioned well forming a nice "V" as if it was orchestrated. It makes you wondered why are they there?

The leading lines created by the vines are the picture but it has a nice supporting cast of mountains and sky
I tried a couple of things to see what else could be done to create a slightly different version. In LR i used the luminance mask to select the soil in the center of vineyard to tone it down. I brushed out everything except the center rows and reduced the highlights and black sliders. In the landscape mask, I selected mountains increased the dehire, texture and clarity to add more definition. I brushed the darker foliage along the mountain base and increased the highlights and exposure. I also brushed the clouds to bring them out by reducing dehire and increasing texture and clarity a bit.

Arik,
Focusing on the lichen on the trees in the foreground your mind says windblown snow and then you see the scene as a whole it is IR.
I like your perspective here Arik. A lot of options here for photos.
Well seen

Charles,
Thanks for your gift of Spring to us. It is slowly coming to us here in St Louis.
I find it interesting that sailboating on a lake ultimately brings the craft clustered together as in your rendering this month. I find it true at the lake by my house
I like your cropping the sparkling water and the contrast between the sails and background.
Well done

The well worn steps are the hero in your composition, curving out of frame.
I offer a couple of thoughts: IN LR i used a brush on the steps and lowered the exposure a bit, I then brushed the foliage adjacent to the stairs and increased the exposure to create contrast and bring the eye into the frame. I also brushed the lower right corner and lowered the exposure so the ball stands out a bit

Steve,
Well done Sir. The sky above is a perfect compliment to this group of beautiful animals who are probably at the low end of the food chain sadly.
I agree with lightening the lead wildebeast but you could also do the one to its left as well. They are the dominate players, it is an artist call here.

Melanie,
Captivating portrait. Your cropping brings the focus to your subject perfectly. He is used to sitting there it seems watching the Miami denizens stroll bye greeting them with a wave. He took his hat off to be comfortable maybe a snooze too and the hat would be a nuisance.
IR worked so well here.
Regards Emil
PS a nit, the image is tilted right as seen by the door jam. You might as well go for perfection |
