Michael,
A cherished moment in time with your nephew.
My only nit is the rock on the horizon. It would be more impactful if it was over the lighter band of water.

Now that I understand your desire for a square format, your cropping choice naturally follows.
As Michael noted the instant in time you took this shot is locked down forever and will never be copied. A proud moment for all photographers, the shot is yours and yours alone.
I think the interesting thing is the position of the Seagulls wings, it looks like it is taking off which makes me wonder about where it started from
Well seen

I used PS Generative Fill. I missed the reflection so I will use it again to correct my oversight
Thanks for your comments

Mark,
I have seen many of your images and this is the first macro shot.
Well done. The eyes are nicely focused and the water droplets look huge. Maybe something you do more in the future?

Chris,
I am fan of Fall photography, a colorful but short period sadly, and certainly Fall brings with it milk weeds that are open dispensing seeds make for great subjects (if you can find them). You did. I really like your treatment here. Your subject is crisply defined and the background is perfectly soft but still tells us you are in the woods someplace.
Well done

Your image has ghostly flags but a "headless" soldier in dark dress uniform. An inversion of what could be. Your artful side at work on us again. Like others have intimated it is troublesome to the eye which is what you wanted.
Amazing thought provoking work

There is something unmistakable about the Palouse as far as imagery goes for me. I have been there a couple of times and it is such a photo rich area.
Love your take of the harvest there with the trees for accent.
Well done

Super composition
I know the building is a bit in shadow but my thought is to open it up more so it jumps out at you.
