Pete,
Your shot from the other side is spot on. I feel the whites are a little hot, see histogram, suggest reducing exposure on building by .25 of a stop.

What you tried to do was challenging due to the light. My eye goes to the bright horizon first and then to your two lads on the beach and it probably should be to the lads first.
My thought was to adjust the light outside of the beachfront, probably sacrificing the gull in the process. I placed a radial gradient over the beach, feather at 60%, inverted it and reduced the exposure. I did a crop on the left and tops of the frame.

Mandy,
Great wildlife shot. It is all done
My thought is bring the background down, dodge it, just a bit. I put a liner gradient drawn from the top edge down to a bit below their hoofs, subtracted the zebras using a brush, then reduced the exposure. I selected subject to get the subject and reduced the exposure just a touch the whites were little hot in places. I decided to crop while I was working on your shot.

Israel,
Your composition is spot on.
My critique is that Moti, your subject, needs to stand out. I did there exposure mods in LR and then a crop. I used the LR adjustment brush on his skin and increased exposure, I added a Linear gradient to the background pulling it down from the upper left corner, I subtracted Moti's body using a brush from the gradient and reduced the exposure to darken the background, I added another linear gradient pulling it up from the lower right corner and increased the exposure. I then cropped the bottom and right side of frame so your subject is more pronounced

Mark,
I have not heard of Convict Lake but I am glad it was on your itinerary during workshop.
I like you scene choice from the many shots you took. It has nice tonal range from the sky, snow on the mountains and the lake elements. I say Good to Go!

Nothing like the simplicity of a single Calla Lilly in BW. You put some work into your submission and it shows.
I wondered if there was a way to coax a little more texture in the petals without losing the pure white. I used the NIK Color Efex Detail Extractor which helped and then I placed a LR adjustment brush over the Petals increased the clarity, white, and exposure sliders

Well done
The beauty of these plants is there are 9 ways to Sunday to render them. The hard part is getting a good starting point with your camera

Gary,
Nice find. Your blurred borders remind of shooting the car through foreground objects close to the lens that become blurred in the photo.
My bias is towards a blue tone for car but that is up to your artistic eye

Palli,
Your image looks at first glance to be a pen and ink drawing, "almost graphic" as Gary noted.
My thought is that the foreground is a touch hot and clipping the whites in spots. So lowered the image exposure about 1 stop and then I placed a radial gradient over the foreground, inverted it, 905 feather and reduced the exposure with affected the background. The high contrast is retained just different tonality

I like this version.
I wondered if you dodged the land mass just a bit it would bring a little more detail.
I used an adjustment brush in LR. Reduced the Highlights, increased the shadows, added some Dehaze and contrast.

Simply an amazing Vista from 14Kft.
I humbly offer a version that crops the clear sky and retains everything else.

The sky in your scene is drama in spades and tends to overwhelm the scattered people you retained.
I humbly offer a crop to bring more emphasis to the foreground but still retain the cloud drama, at least in part.
You are the artist so go where heart leads you

Jack,
The placement of the barn (aka schoolhouse I have photographed it as well) on the left complemented by the clouds fanning out over it the make your shot very compelling.
I tend to agree with Palli about extending the left part of your frame to add more space to the barn
Nice work
