I like your composition particularly with the lone visitor about to exit the escalator.
Food for thought. To create depth I added a fairly large radial gradient in LR CC, set it to invert and darkened it. I then used an adjustment brush in the center area and lightened it.

I like your composition this month. My thought is to bring out the potters hands and legs, the pot he is working on, and the big pot to his right from the shadows. I used the adjustment brush in LR CC and upped the exposure

Mark,
Interesting subject and one clearly near and dear to your work life.
Your processing approach here was the way to go to bring focus on the coils. You could even darken the center area a little to force it more to the background.
I don't have a feel for the size of this generator but I am guessing you would need a small man and a boy to move it around.

Your take of Mt Cook tells a story of the harsh environment there - snow covered jagged peaks seen on a few clear days.
I use my iPhone more and more as my walk about camera - they are damn good devices.
I am interested to see Israel's update which should increase contrast - something you could try also.

I applaud your creativity this month. The mirrored rope has distinctive diamond patterns providing visual interest.
Well done

Happy 2024
I think you did justice to this Sunset scene. Nice tonality, sky, shoreline leading line, the flower patch...
One small refinement you might consider is to remove the flower bits cut off at the lower border using the remove tool.

Charles,
Thank you for your comments
The Hue/Saturation technique was shared with me by Palli. It is fairly simple to use and provides nice results so I thought I would use it for the Falls image
I like to use the NIK Detail Extractor particularly to breath a little life into flat clouds. I will mask the results to avoid an over cooked look. It has a number of sliders to dial in the adjustment that I sometimes fail to use. I use LR Classic clarity and texture adjustments on my color processing before I render in BW to add a little sharpness. I am not enough of a software expert but I believe clarity boosts the midtowns and the Detail Extractor affects everything.
I think the halo was caused by shooting into the morning Sun the day I took the photo and the light entered my lens.

Charles,
I love clouds and you captured a nice NY cloudscape.
I had to try my hand at processing it. I used your original, a little NIK and LR CC masking tools for local adjustment.
Thoughts?

Gary,
You have a great knack for taking the drab and making it eye catching. Your use of a heavy vignette makes your rendering special.

Jack,
Wonderful tonality here, the leading lines work quite nicely (I don't feel a flip is warranted in your shot), and the sky is perfect the story is in the foreground.
Nicely done

The texture, shadows, shapes that you captured in this sand sculpture are classic.
I am wondering if the sky background was a changed to solid color (e.g. dark sepia) that it would keep the viewer's eye on the sculpture?

Your composition here is stellar. Capturing the small tree in the background through the Arcadia in the foreground requires good judgment during setup.
Removing the halo around the trees would finish this nice image

Henry,
What I like about your image is that it is such a unique composition by framing these grand mountains through a cabin window. Your choice of using color here really works well. I too am a fan of using Detail Extractor judiciously to add interest to a bland sky.
Well done

I used NIK's pro contrast and Levels adjustment in this update. Thoughts?
