I was not sure if I could achieve the end result from the picture I started to edit, and naturally the garden where I took the shot had very few grass stands in water so I could get a shot SOOC.

It is amazing the religious history you are able to witness when you are out with your camera.
A pointer from yours truly, when I am faced with blue sky and intend to render the shots with it into BW. I replace the sky always but with wispy clouds that will complement the scene. You can always shoot the sky when they are over head.
I like how you processed this image, I would not recommend changing the clouds now. What you did works for me.

Thanks for sharing the background associated with your image of the Herring Factory. I wonder what this space looked like during its heyday in the late 40's

Pete,
Creative processing of your smoke cloud..
I had to join in your fun...A square crop, a couple black eyes and a trim on the top left with a lift overall in the smoke brightness.

I like your vertical perspective of these skyscrapers and the lighting on the Monadnock building which draws your eye into the scene.
You could add a little light to the building in the upper left to bring it out of the shadows.

Knock on wood but I have never had a card go bad. I can appreciate how you felt when your computer says to you in effect "What pictures?" Good for you for exploring every recovery avenue.
I have some suggestions for you. I would darken the light areas surrounding the bear and the middle portion of the left branch. I also dodged the bear. I used the adjustment brush in all cases. As I lightened the bear using the Highlights slider I started to see some change in tones that give it a nice glow.

Agree with you that I should reduce the image exposure. It is a little too bright

This is the first image of a borehole that I have ever seen, so you brought something new to the table for me.
The detailed layers you captured are quite amazing. The opening and the light area around its lower circumference draws you into the image.
Well done

Jack,
Folks walking towards you in pairs on the walkway is something any photographer would hope for in a water scene like this. Your vantage point is perfect. I too feel the grass in the foreground needs to be burned just a little to bring back some detail.
No crop needed

Dave's Old Trucks - It will delay your entry into the Palouse, if you do a closeup or two...Love old cars and trucks.
Perfect camera aspect, you get both flanks of the parked trucks. These vehicles look to be in good condition which says you can go back for more if you want to.
Great shot and I happy that similar photos sell well for you.

Gary,
Your processing tool box is perfectly suited for making a decade image look like you took it last week. Well done
Your low position when you photographed the Yaquina Head lighthouse is a cut above vice shooting up on the point, it opens up the "bay " as your foreground and the detail it brings with it.
I like the sky tone it is in contrast to the white lighthouse. My suggestion is to dodge the cloud slivers some.
Asalways Masterful work

I love the framing created by the truck window of your subject who is entranced with her phone. The blue door within the brown overall tone adds interest to me that is atypical of IR shots. I like it.
I am glad the you thought how you were going to execute this shot sans tripod, we got the benefit of viewing the outcome.

Melanie.
What I like about your shot is the falling water works its way down and around and then comes right at you before dropping down again in the lower right. My eye starts there and works up stream.
The framing of the foliage around the rocks is perfect. After looking at the leaves in the upper left I would remove them they are different to my eye.
All in all a great shot.
