This scene is on the backroads of Missouri about an hour from home.

I took this photo on a hill at a safe pullout using a long lens. Many times shooting these farms your vantage points are limited either by a safe place to shoot or private property which I will not enter. This is a case in point, the foliage in the mid-ground is not a preference of mine as well but that is the view I can get until I go back and see if there is another option. It is going to take time to get a dozen good scenes.

I like your thought of cropping it out but to me it must be completely out and I am not sure I can remove the tree tips.

What I have done is extended the grass in the foreground and cloned out the pines as way to neuter the mid ground - see insert Any thoughts?

I really like this scene but I am afraid it may end up being unworkable

Thanks for your comments

My sincerest apology

I meant to say by dodging the chapel facade you would make it lighter so it pops

Sunflowers are one of my favorite subjects to photograph. My thought was to try to render your original with contrast and have details in the petals. I used NIK SilverEfex contrast preset and little dodge and burn in LR Classic.

This is a wonderful shot. My suggestion is to dodge the areas of the church that are a little darker so it pops in this scene using a small brush (LR Classic masking tool). I actually darkened the area in the center of the steeple so the tone is uniform.

I also erased the lights Pete mentioned

Well done

Nice contrast and detail in your daffodil image. It is art. I think it is good as is

The detail in your shot is amazing. One thing you could consider to keep the eye on the stairs and pedestrians is to burn the lighter portion of the building facade. I used a brush in LR Classic with slight reduction in exposure and painted the lightest portion of the building face.

I like your approach with the tulip image. My thought is to darken the flower just a touch so the detail comes through better and it will help when print it. I placed a radio gradient over the flower and reduced the exposure slightly in my example.

I feel that a more dramatic version was in order so I like your version. Well done

Well done. The pair of boats point you down the river as does the adjacent light strip of grass. Beautiful buildings in light and shadow along the river.

I love your set up on this shot, the road runs on and on....

I offer a thought by doing a square crop it brings the covered bridge and road into a more intimate look.

66 Nov 22 Comment Gary,

You are an inspiration to the group with your use of new tools and processing approaches while I am still working to master monochrome.

I wondered if the overlay would look good in BW so I gave it a go. This is Gavin Seim's Silver 4.5 Black Tack for your thoughts.

Excellent shot. I love how the clouds "emanate" from the church. Just a touch of adjustment on the sky/clouds like Palli has done works for me.

Thanks for your constructive ideas. I am going to crop and add contrast to the sky as you suggested. I think this will help a lot
