Thanks so much
Yes adding to the tree is a good thing.
This was a tall guy so if I had shot in portrait mode to get it in frame I felt the barn would "disappear" next to it. So I went landscape and hoped that viewers would visual the missing tree top.

Thanks for your thoughts. I took an online class during COVID lockdown and the instructor emphasized over and over again to remove distracting elements so it is automatic for me

My two cents is both sets of ropes provide a balanced lead in for the viewer. You move to the intersection rope "V" immediately as Pete notes, and from there my eyes examine the boat.
Interesting perspective for sure and as Bunny notes a little more DOF next time won't hurt

Emil.

The Timna Park terrain and beautiful clouds above make for a superb landscape shot.
I know that a good composition brings out a lot of ideas and comments from the group, this image is no exception.
I started with your color original and did a few things before I rendered it in BW. I removed the car, and I added a small strip to the right border so the leftmost tree had more space from the edge (this is a Photoshop task). I converted it to BW and used NIK Detail Extractor to bring out the mountains in the background. I then used the LR filters to dodge and burn the clouds and to dodge the sand running along the base of the mountains.
Thanks for sharing your shot

The camera gets the process started, the magic is in the processing when it comes to BW IMHO.
I like your cropping and adding the clouds, your image would be stark with just a black sky.
Well done

Bob,
I like how your processed this multicolored rose. As Pete and Bunny note, the flower glows as if lit from within. I understand your thought about including the stem, BW should be art as you see it.
I offer one thought, I lightened the center of the rose just a little so there is a focus area.

Your words "this image hanging in a quiet place...and ponder the day's events" fit so well the felling I get when I view this Cala.
The first thing I notice is the lily is offset to the left, it is attention grabbing, then I look over its soft outer surface and then the flower's center. Just enough detail to know it is a Cala.
Splendid work

Your eye was on point when you shot this portrait.
My eyes go right to the man's eyes and the sadness is clear along with wrinkles that seem premature for his age. No smile just a forlorn look...
You have a knack for portraiture Sir

This camera was modified by Kolari Vision to 590nm. Their custom white balance guidance for this wavelength was to use a grey card.

I like your composition here and am wondering if there were a few more shots of cactus that you could share down the road?

Good eye - love the shadows crossing the lines of the deck planks, wonderful patterns.
I too feel black and white treatment is in order here.
I thought I would try something with your image Palli - a crop and flip it horizontally so the shadows become leading lines...

Charles,
I like architectural photos where the photographer is looking up, especially when the buildings have interest. Your camera is positioned perfectly here. I also like the clouds as Melanie said, there is light at the end of the tunnel or in this case the end of the Tower
Well done

As in golf, you shot this straight down the middle of the tree lined street. The mid-day light creates such wonderful bold shadows from the trees.
Well seen

I applaud you capturing your emotions in digital art form after seeing the unprecedented destruction of civilian areas on the nightly news from the Ukraine. The apartment building is a fitting subject for your vision of the horror underway daily
My paternal grandparents are Ukrainian and I feel the suffering those poor people are experiencing. They are fending off Goliath

I love to photograph trees also and you have put this tree in top form
There is so much to examine about your image. The tiered foreground, the bare tree, and the light spots in the clouds and the impending storm darkening the sky make a come sling scene
Top marks as Palli would say
