Agree, we can certainly darken the edge of the passenger seat..
Thanks

You posted an interesting image that opens so many avenues for processing. You showed three versions so I had to join in the fun..
I cropped the image to three windows, used Nik's detail extractor preset on the windows, added a radial filter diagonally to simulate a light shaft, darkened the top left portion and the lower right somewhat.
Love the old beauty subjects

Your shot is well conceived but it needed a focal point along the lines of Pete's example.

I am curious as to why you went back so far into the archives for this particular shot. I can go back to 2002 and the shots would not be worth sharing in color or BW...
I like the vantage point of your shot the structure is tucked back in the woods, framed by age tree trunk on the side and a limb above. No need to do anything else, it was well seen when you shot it.

I will bet traveling by boat through a lock system was quite an experience. It gave you a close vantage point to take this image.
I have two thoughts for you, the sky could be a touch darker as well as the upper structure of the lock. I used a new masking feature in LR and selected the sky and darkened it bit by reducing the exposure. I then selected subject which chose the lock and darkened it just slightly.

My eye says retain the whole sign and make it the subject.
I cropped out the lower section go the building, rendered the image in low key and then dodged the sign. I cloned out the window AC unit and painted the object in the window on the left.

Nice work. Your still life shots get better and better.
My only suggestion is keep experimenting with light positioning and trying to create shadows on your subjects to create some depth.
Thanks for sharing

Agree with you idea. The water needs a boost and some dodging is a good way to go
Thanks

I love the scene, you positioned yourself perfectly on the road. My thought is to remove the partially showing structures in the mid ground.

Your exploration into composites is applauded, not something I am apt to try
I like version 2 much better, the color of the mystics dress grabs my attention. My only suggestion is bring down the halo some it tends to dominate.

Your color rendering is off the chart, I wish I could do the same

My eye says the shot lies on the inside with the architectural beams in the window and their reflection on the floor. The view through the window is a nice bonus.
I dodged the window area and the floor using linear grads in LR and burned the view outside with a brush in LR.
A good shot always has many fathers...

Melanie,
What a beautiful day at Kruger NP. The group of three trees on the left, the puffy clouds and the tall grass work together for a magical IR composition. The vastness comes across to me.
Well done
