Concur with your comment about over processing the subject. I should have said dodging the leaf area adjacent to it....

The repeating pattern of the rippling waves offset by the camo paint of the fisherman's boat make for an interesting image.
My suggestion is to darken the upper portion of your frame since there is not a lot happening there and bring the viewers eye down to the fishing boat and the man trying to catch dinner.

Top marks here on your subject choice this month. As Bob noted the leading lines of the water into the power plant with its billowing smoke. Your ominous tone is what is needed to convey where our planet is headed without everyone working to address global warming.

Agree with your choice to flip the scene so the sky is on the right and the barn is the first thing you see as your eye scans the image. Your sky replacement choice is perfect. It fills the sky with nice wispy clouds
Well done

I applaud you for stopping to take a shot of two of this country farm stand. I too hope the honor system is working well for the owner.
I thought I would try something with your image since the lettering is white. In PhotoShop you can turn day into night by adding a Levels Layer and moving the middle slider (triangle actually) to the right which darkens the image, how much is up to the artist. I then converted it to BW using the BW layer in PS. I finished in LR by adding two radial gradients to lighten the facade and lettering and another along the same axis but into the gravel. The grads represent a lightsource in the upper left of your frame and out of view.
Food for thought

Your composition brought to mind the work of Jack Curran who had a category he called "Botanicals" that he dodged and burned to bring out texture etc. I gave tried to mimic his works but fall short.
Capturing a frog in the leaf pocket, who was patient enough to sit for your turn, must have made your day. I agree with your approach of highlighting the frog so I thought I would go further down the path. In LR added two radial filters on the frog and above to lighten that area a bit more. I added two linear grad filters on right and left to darken those areas. When you have a nice shot, it fun to try an idea of your own.
Thanks for sharing

Charles,
Well seen. You have captured the scale so well. The Sun rays are really needed in this barren landscape. I will never get to Iceland so I thank you for bringing it to me.
Good job

Melanie,
I really like this shot. The framing of the farm by the leaves, although a necessity in the field, works nicely. I like the contrast in the field created by the stakes, amazing detail. The structure adds the dark tones to offset the grass. I think we all would have liked to take this shot with you

The texture in your shot is fantastic. I like your strategy of luring the background so it is background to keep eye focus on the Gum tree. Sepia tone works for me
I thought I would see if the background could be burned a little more keeping in mind the Sun is on the right. I made the left side background darker, a little darkening on the other side. I lightened the right side of the tree trunk and darkened the ground in front of tree.
Keep walking about with your camera, it pays off
