Challenging workshop assignment but you pulled it off. The thought I have is to crop out the man who is heading away from you. I think it would add to the intimacy of the nice scene you captured. Try it and see what you think, the only cost is your time.

Israel,
I really like the shot and the pose by your fellow photographer.
I have one thought for you that I think will improve your nice capture. It has to do with the bright areas in the upper left. Remove the light and its reflection off the wall, It causes the viewer to look away from your subject. In doing so, I think you will have a very dramatic shot.

Leah,
Your image does indeed have a nice shadow pattern. You might think about going out to look for shadow pattern created by fences, trees etc for a photo project.

Your processing approach solves the challenge you faced with the original, the musicians must stand out for your composition to work.
BW is the right rendering for your shot IMHO Nice work

Gary,
The original has wonderful sunset color
Good marks for long exposure technique. I like the foreground stump to anchor your shot.
Food for thought: the group of 5 stumps in the water lead your eye to the edge of frame and out. I offer the thought to remove the three stumps closet to the edge and now your eye moves into the background instead.

Thanks so much for sharing your journey to Kliptown. I love this candid shot of the town's people walking to a place we can only guess which makes it thought provoking. I have no comments over above what Gary, Jack and Palli noted

Good eye and creative composition. I had to read your writeup to understand what was producing the halo. It is interesting that the individual slats that form the silo dome are visible in your shot. The shovel is a nice prop and makes your shot work

Welcome. Our group always sees something a little different in the monthly submissions from your vision of the image. It will open your "aperture" the next time out.
I like your composition and the cool tone of your IR rendering.

Charles,
Wonderful perspective for your pool scene, invites us to sit out and relax.Plenty of space for social distancing. I like the IR color rendering choice you chose.
You have the entire chair in your original so probably just an oversight in your editing that you cropped the back piece off.

I like composition very much. Finding old farm buildings near the big city is always a treat.
I have trouble accepting the dark building in the sun lit field, it defies my sense of sun position. I think it should be bright like the original.
Sepia tone is a good choice
