This is subtle (had to compare back and forth) but I think that extra little bit helps and I like this new version. |

Thanks Terry. There was quite a bit more top before with another house and some more trees which I lopped off. But could go tighter as well. |

Thanks Brenda and a good point that not every photo needs to be cloned and cleaned. Guess it depends on the photographer's intent for the image and their vision of how it should be. |

Thanks Mitch. The cleaned up image does bring the attention to the main elements. |

I like the rotation based on my version though looking at them both, I think I prefer Brenda's downward rotation. |

I was quite impressed when I first pulled this up and then surprised to see how well you brought these two out from the original. I would have thought they were the main area of focus and not such a big crop.
I think your shutter was fast enough to get the action.
I don't know if starting from scratch is really needed. Crop is good and clarity too.
To me the main issue seems to be it looks a little flat. Maybe some added saturation or contrast can help make it pop? |

Similar to my comments to Sunil, I tend to like the darker tones of the original vs your edit.
Maybe that's the mood I'm in today!
Or maybe in this case, bring it up to about half that brightness. Another idea would be keep some areas in shadow so it is not so uniform. For example, a gradient on the water so it darkens in front of the boat. |

Wow, what a great moment!
I like that your added light shows us the name and location which adds further context, but for me personally, I prefer your original image.
The details in the image are not so great being pulled up like that, and the darker original version gives us the same look at rider and flag, but leaves the rest in the shadows which to me is a more powerful image. If anything, maybe even darken some areas of your original to keep to just the fall of light on the rider and hint of the crowd. |

Seems like birds were a popular subject this month! I like these little "Photo Synchronicity" moments which I see in my photography community site where on a given day a theme emerges of similar postings.
You were out looking for swallows while Helen was chasing leopards!
This redwing blackbird looks good filling the frame although cropping in like this brings more attention that the focus is not quite on the eye. I do like the minimalist view with just the bird and branches, and the "crossroads" of them coming together.

"while I was waiting for a leopard to reappear" is not something many wildlife photographers utter before sharing a bird photo :)
I can see how you were challenged to crop this one as the other branch is not doing much and best advice would be to clone it out unless you are planning on a nature competition with editing rules.
I also tried flipping it (because of course) and rotating which gives some other possibilities. Here's a quick look at rotating for reference. |

A refreshing creative change-up! Really not much to say on the technical details of the image. It's very well done.
Ok one small thing. The yellow outline bugs me a little. It seems to stop somewhat arbitrarily. Perhaps better to continue down to bottom of the ground area? Or make a black line of similar thickness that goes from where the yellow currently stops until the end of the ground area.
This would look really good as an animated gif where the star particles go around infinitely like a snow globe. |
