Thanks Terry for the additional thoughts -- and for your offer to be an older bearded model one day. If I find myself in the UK again I'll gladly take you up on that!
Interesting consideration how mono helps refine the subject vs the color image. |

I do like this old and new contrast Helen. I like your crop as well which brings us right to the textures shapes of the contrasting buildings.
Though looking at your original, I found that for a "street photography" photo, the actual street has a unique element in it with the "Keep Clear" marking.
Perhaps you can do an alternate vertical edit that incorporates the street and markings as well, but also keeps the core of the other elements like the tree, old building, new buildings. |

Funny I got to editing before I looked at the comments and I see Brenda and Terry were both on to a similar idea that I had which was to crop in on the booth, door, and man. Adding my crop here as well though pretty similar to Brenda.
I do like his red striped socks and how they match the red on the phone booth amidst the otherwise wet and somewhat muted scene. |

Excellent use of last months feedback on a new photo. Your edits really bring us right into the action of this highly dramatic moment. I didn't notice the horses tongue sticking out as it strains to rid that pesky rider.
I like that your original seems more or less like a snapshot from the stands and your edit is completely immersive to the scene. I like Sunil's additional crop / background darkening.
Great POV btw as we look over the shoulder of the rescue rider. |

Great photo and concept Sunil. I like the textures.
On titles on the theme, maybe something that incorporates
Ascension, Elevation, Emerging into Light, Stumbling from Darkness to Light, Salvation, Illumination - those are a few concepts that come to me as I look at the image. |

I like that you and Mitch were both into abstractions this month. This is a good and not so common angle for this image. It takes a moment to get oriented to what we are seeing.
I kind of feel like the left side of the image/arch is not adding so much either and would consider cropping about halfway in. If you went with a 4x5 format you could do away with a good part of it and IMO still portray an interesting image. |

WOW! What a great perspective and composition. I can imagine it is a good conversation starter in your office.
This rendering of the Marriott Marquis is excellent and reminds me of some strange scene from a 70's sci-fi flick. That place is also the perfect backdrop for Dragon Con - when thousands of fantasy and sci-fi people come out in costume.
I don't have much in terms of feedback on this one. Taking Sunil's advice to me, maybe a moody B&W conversion would give it a different feel. |

I didn't think about a B&W conversion but it does translated nicely. Thanks Sunil. |

Great ideas Stephen. Thanks! I think I have a good "senior" model I might be able to convince to go back for a reshoot sometime. As for broken down furniture and cars, those might be a little easier to get over there than this guy I have in mind :) |
