Thanks Jim. I agree the lighter trees do look better, especially in this crop. |

I think the colors are much more natural in this one Brenda. I like the darker balloons in back as well. |

This is a magical and surreal scene! I love the variety and colors in the balloons over the landscape. I also personally like the sneak peak of the moon.
I do find the saturation to be a little too much in this case, more on the green of the landscape than the sky. The landscape also seems over-sharpened. All that could be artifacts from the Topaz AI. This one would probably benefit from more localized edits (like using gradients in lightroom) vs a single filter across the whole image.
FWIW, I think whatever Richard did in his edit gives it a more uniform natural look than the way it is here. |

I like the simplicity of this in B&W and with the white liquid. Looks like an "i". |

Lots of colors in this charismatic room. I think you got the composition right and did pretty well with the large contrast in exposure from window light to dark room.
Does the floor sink in under the left chair or was that part of the distortion correction process? Seems pinched or sunken under the right legs.
Any reason on the tripod you didn't opt for slower shutter and lower ISO?
Did you take any photos at the scene? seems like you could also have made some nice images of just the vase of flowers or chairs or other details. |

Wow Richard, awesome action photos. The dog expressions are amazing!
Regarding this image compared with the other 3... thinking like a judge, I feel like this photo is a little more ordinary or even more like a snapshot that any bystander might have taken.
Whereas the two that were accepted are much more unique, really putting us into the action. The dogs are in better positions and the compositions are very interesting.
The other images also appear sharper to me compared this one.
Looking at levels, the contrast seems like it could be tweaked a little as well, giving slightly whiter whites / darker darks. Particularly the left half of the frame where the rider is a somewhat flat.
Those are minor issues and all your images in the series are quite good. |

Cool shot Sunil with great clouds, lighting, morning fog, and this timeless truck and sign.
While not so natural, I kind of like the green windows.
I'm not a huge fan of the processed HDR look, but these kind of scenes do seem to lend themself to this style.
Conversely, I think you could probably push the under image to a similar result if perhaps a bit more subtle. |

I like the lines and pathways in this image from stairway to pathway into the water and beyond.
Though with all the grass and weeds, maybe another take would have been to shoot from the start of the pier thing and cut out the grass. Those reflections in the distance of bridge and steeple are quite nice and could perhaps be featured to be more prominent.
Or this vantage point might benefit from a model or other element so that this is the backdrop but there is a main subject on the stairs to add interest.

Thanks Terry for the detailed comments and thoughts.
Good point on the tight crop. There may have been some other stuff near by that I was trying to keep out of the frame but it would definitely benefit from some extra space on all sides.
Funny the lips didn't do much for ya. |
