Thanks Sunil. I thought about that as well but opted not to for this edit. Perhaps I'll give it a try for another version. |

Thanks Brenda. I see what you mean about the rider being dark and in the shadows. Will play around with this and some other feedback when I can. |

Too funny about forgetting the critical piece of gear. I did something similar once - going out in Paris and realizing my camera battery was still on the charger but the hotel was now quite far away to return.
This is a well balanced image with a lovely sunset and great lighting on your subject to match. Could easily be the lead photo for a lifestyle magazine article.
I wonder if the shadows on his face could be brought out just a bit more? (or could be my monitor rendering it darker)
One other consideration if you shot this again is if you could have moved a little to your right, so there was more separation with the man and the boat behind him. Though hard to say without being there, if that would have been less optimal with the sun position or other elements in the scene.
Thanks also for sharing the other photo by email. Will have a look soon and share thoughts.

Alan's right, this colorful snap is taken to a new level as painted work of art. Also a great revisioning of a photo from the archives.
Don't have much to critique here. I guess if you were going for a different crop, removing the top white boats and leaving the colorful bottom ones might make for a decent alternate version. |

Wonderful sharpness and clarity on this beautiful portrait of your Mother -- and perfect toning as well.
I like how the bokeh area of the chair back and legs echoes the curved shape of the cane. It adds a little mystery to the scene and narrative.

Looks like Tonality may have been rolled into Luminar 3 (which is a more comprehensive image editing app similar to Lightroom)
You can download the Tonality presets here (once you install Luminar)

These old buildings were probably great to explore and photograph. Lots of great textures and abstract image opps I would imagine.
For this shot, guess it depends on what you are showing. If it is to show the building in a documentary style, you've done a pretty good job there.
If you are looking for a more artistic rendition, there are a lot of nice lines and repeating elements. I like how the first section of building seems to start over near the right side of the image.
In that case, I wonder if cropping in a little tighter accentuates the patterns in the building more prominently.
What do you think? |

Looks like you made the best out of some challenging conditions. I imagine those kids loved the photos despite the chilly temps.
And, what a great learning opportunity for you to practice!
I like the warm light and dreaminess of the image. The sky looks fairly natural except right where it meets the trees seems strange to me. Almost like JPG artifacts but might also be a thin layer of pixels around the plant making a kind of ghosting effect. |
