One other consideration is Reddit. There is already a public group called "Photo Critique" which serves a similar purpose, is quite active, and facilitates most of Sunil's requirements including real time discussion and potential for large image hosting or at least linking.
https://www.reddit.com/r/photocritique
If a public group is not so desirable, it is also possible to make an invite only group.

Thanks Sunil for your suggestion.
I think I did take a few on this night of focus on foreground vs. focus on moon. Will have to see if any combine nicely.
Enjoy your travels and family visit. |

Good suggestion Dave thanks.
I also had an edit similar to this where I was moving the moon around (and even considered posting one of those here instead vs. the original)
I found that mine looked a bit off in terms of the colors matching in the sky, but otherwise is a great idea for getting all the elements, composition, and crop to come together. |

Great questions Brenda.
I am one of two original co-founders of Aminus3 and have been running it for many years since.
I welcome the Digital Dialog group to share photos on Aminus3.
The platform was created to share images for discussion (that was the original mission when myself and some friends first created it) and there is also a larger community of photographers who may choose to join in the commenting as well.
There are a few potential issues with this platform for this use --
The comment system is more like the one here vs a real time chat platform (like What's App). So you post a static comment and can post a reply.
There is also a limitation in that Aminus3 is meant to be a daily photo site meaning you can post only one image per calendar day for discussion. You could in theory back post to older dates if you wanted but it is mainly a daily experience with an image a day.
Regarding your other questions -
The max resolution for basic members is 800 pixel width. Paying subscribers ($45/yr) can post images up to 2000 pixels wide. Note that it is not possible to post a 118mb full resolution image as Abdo described.
The Remix function is a way to organize photos into galleries (either your own pics or photos from all Aminus3 photographers). For example, here is a Remix I made of some of my own B&W photos:
https://jason.aminus3.com/remix/6702/
It is not a way to edit another person's photo however, so that function would not work like that.
I would say that it is probably not fully what Abdo is envisioning in terms of another discussion platform. However, it is a site that I personally still find much value in using every day and welcome everyone to try it out regardless. |

Your B&W treatment is very nice. I didn't look too much at the original and missed the removal of the tree till reading the comments. The patio seems a little odd then where the tree was, like the bricks don't quite connect (though I missed it for the most part till looking for it).
I like the idea to remove some of the people but also think the girl adds a lot of interest to the couple and would keep her in. Richard makes a good point about the somberness, but even in somber places, there is something pure about a child's creative wonder and joy that can be more Godlike than any holy place. |

I almost didn't see the bike but now that I do, I like the way you did half and half light and dark. Makes for a great abastract and without a description, probably people have an aha when they see the bike.
Looking at the original, I kind of like the more yellow / warm color balance. Though your image is cleaner as you processed it and does bring more attention to the bike. |

That does truly transform into something special with filter.
The effect almost looks like extra feathers floating off and in the wind.
Seems like this one would print nicely on canvas. |

Thanks Richard for trying out Aminus3.com, and for your initial user experience feedback.
It is good timing as we are in process to improve the experience for new users. I'd like to perhaps ask you more questions by email if that's OK.
Generally speaking... Aminus3 is an image a day website. Unlike other photo sites, you can't freely upload as many pics as you want, but rather you upload one image per calendar day (and can discuss your photos and other photos posted that day with the community). You don't have to post every day and you can pre-post your images in advance as you wish.
This in itself has two benefits. It requires you to be more selective about which image you will display, and over time builds up a daily "photo journal" which is nice to look back over from time to time. You can also organize your photos (and all images on the site) into Remix galleries or a portfolio.
Regarding the color palette... every time you upload a photo, it pulls the primary colors from the image. You can then view the color palette by clicking the color bar under the image after it is uploaded. There is also a community color feature that features some of the nice images + palettes each day https://www.aminus3.com/color/ |

Thanks Richard for the cleanup suggestions. You are right it looks much better removed. I was being perhaps a bit lazy to not make the effort to get rid of it all! |

Thanks Brenda. Absolutely having the ability to photograph the same place under many different whether conditions / seasons / light etc is a great creative challenge.
Here's one more I took last November from a different vantage point when the moon was a bit higher in the sky https://jason.aminus3.com/image/2018-11-24.html |

Ah, good to see the original as well.
I see why you thought to crop out as it is not fully clear that was the umpire. In that case, if it were my photo I'm a bit on the fence as to whether I'd choose to leave him in or not.
In one sense it does add to the story I think and adds some life to the image. It leaves a question in my mind looking at it as to who the adult was - a parent? Coach? Umpire? Are they coming to his aid or will he take a few breaths and get back in there. It gives it a more open ended narrative.
A possible crop with the legs would be to cut off some of the left side so the eye really goes from the boy to the legs and back again. That forms a line as well which I think compliments the strong lines of the field.
(forgot to also add) I really like the reflections in his helmet as well which give us a sense of the field and world beyond. |

Beautiful vivid scene and image Abdo.
I had not initially thought about the stitched image till you mentioned it and could go both ways (though I really like Alan's suggestion for the print as well!)
Regarding your idea -- I'm up for sharing more photos / discussion on another platform. What's App would not be my personal first choice (as I am not on that site) but don't have an immediate suggestion for another real time discussion platform. |

I really like this one Brenda. It is a creative setup and an excellent image. I love the color contrast of the yellow wheel and purple sky.
I would definitely say to do more of these kind of creations. I'm curious to hear more about how your friend moved the tube to get such a smooth path of motion.
For titles, perhaps something like
"Reach for Enlightenment" or "Wheel of Enlightenment"
On editing thoughts... I don't mind the grass so much. For me it even adds an extra kind of texture to the scene that seems somehow fitting.
I am curious about your crop and why you placed the subject off-center. One idea is to crop to 8x10 and you can see by centering the woman and wheel, the diagonal lines perfectly intersect with her hands and heart area. Pretty cool !

Wow, this photo has a powerful impact (visually and emotionally).
I think you did a great job capturing the moment. The background is interesting as well with the lines of the field creating leading lines in the frame.
For me personally, with your edits, it seems a little artificial with the blurred background and isolation of the boy. I would be interested to see the original with the umpire. It's possible it adds to the narrative of the image as the umpire was part of the moment too. |
