If you count birds, you can see I added 5 or 6 over the area where the flare was. I borrowed them from nearby places and you can see several are identical. |

Abdo,
Nice capture. Here it is with Brenda's cloning suggestions, Jason's crop, shadows lifted, exposure and white balance adjusted, and a little vignetting all in Lr. |

Jason,
Great capture. I cloned out the lower right flare and cloned in some extra birds, raised the shadow detail, used the de-haze filter, and then re-warmed it in Lr. I would have taken more care if it were my image... the clone job is fairly obvious. Thanks. It was fun working on your image. Please let me know if you think it helped. |

Richard,
All else aside... I like this orientation better. There's no type so we can get away with it. What do you think? In the west we read from left to right so my eye is led form the tiger graphic down the alley to the woman. Very nice capture! |

Also Sunil,
I think you did a very nice job with the HDR. It's very easy and tempting to over do it. |

Sunil,
I like you original composition. I think removing the trees at the top and darkening the foreground are good additions... I'm not a strict adherent to the rule of thirds. |

Alan,
Nice relaxed pose of a beautiful person. I think I would spend some time cleaning up the strands of hair that have fallen across her face. Using the Healing Brush (J) in Ps makes that task simple. Replacing backgrounds in portraits is something I do a lot. Whenever I'm out and about with my camera, I keep my eyes pealed for useful backgrounds. For me, the problem with you replacement background is it's very poor quality. From the internet? |

For me, the relaxing part is being out in nature with my camera and then spending time with the images in post processing. I shoot nature because with my camera in hand I look at things differently. I look deeper into what I'm seeing. As you can see from the original back at the top, I shoot the whole flower and a little of what's around it. Just as every time one shoots a portrait, we don't include the entire person in the final crop. I think cropping a flower is just as valid. I don't want my shots to end up looking like a seed catalogue. |

Jason thanks I hadn't though of this approach. It's not a stacking issue because the area you selected is in all 3 of the layer stack. So I selected your blue area and soft focused the rest using the Ps Gaussian Blur filter. What do you think? I'm not so sure I like it myself. |

Brenda,
Great camera position. You might try cropping the foreground at the point where the shadow crosses the street. That might add to your timeless message. |

Jason,
Here is number one in the stack. What do you think? I agree that having everything in focus all of the time is boring. However, I think I prefer my best of thee out of the five shot stack works better. |

Brenda,
For me each of the petals has roughly the same shape so, to see all of all of them makes the image look like any other of that kind of flower. The crop and composition puts my stamp on it. |

Thanks Brenda,
You may well be right. I lost the edges in a destructive Ps crop... something I try not to do. I was in a hurry and not being careful, so I can't show you guys a looser crop. However, as with my September submission "Monocacy Road", I like the tension added with this style of crop. It's not just a view plopped in the center of the page. For better or worse it's my style. I don't mean to be disrespectful or impolite. I wish I could show you your crop suggestion. I might change my mind. I often do. Thanks for your close look and comments. |
