I agree with Tom, although I think the unfurling fern could have more exposure. For sure a tripod would have helped, allowing you to use a higher f stop for more DOF. What might work here is to pull up your white slider a little which would brighten the image, add a little contrast without darkening.
These little fritters make great subject matter. I waiting for my fern to coming out. Still to cold here. |

Nice capture Tom! Well focused and exposed. And for sure the depth and texture of the wood looks great. And the really pulls the viewers eye into the image. I wouldn't change a thing. |

Yes, I think they are Magnolias. Such a beautiful bloom. I like the symmetry of the petals which works well with the square format. The background is a little distracting, esp. the other white blooms back there; whatever you can do to reduce those tones I think would be helpful. |

Nice image, I like the mix of textures between the shells and driftwood. To my eyes it looks a little dark and maybe a touch of dynamic contrast. I think Nik has a filter for adjustments to different ranges of contrast, like small, med. and large.
You have a nice collection of shells. Looks like good subject matter for future images. |
