Well I know how important water is in CO, so much coming from the mountains requires a lot of irrigation ditches.
I agree that if this is to be a landscape image, the background could be a little sharper, not much, just a little, say from 2.8 to f4.0. If you have the opportunity to use a tripod, you can get back the light loss by slowing down your shutter speed and you still get the soft water. Or, as Cindy mentioned, crop in and go abstract.

Good choice of flower for your subject, nice vertical presence. Since this is a studio shot, you could get that soft background you're looking for by moving them further back, allowing you to use a higher f stop and gaining more DOF on your main subject. It looks there may be a little more life in the whites of the flowers, if you can brush over the first flower with a soft brush that has the white slider boosted, your could get some more contrast and separation between the whites and blues. Just a thought. |

What a master class in post production. Cute subject and worth saving, all that work with blend modes - well done. |

Nice capture, Nelson. Sharp and colorful with great bokeh. I would be tempted to crop off some of the bottom to keep the viewers eye on the bloom. |

Beautiful flower image, sharp and as others said, your treatment is great, really makes the flower stand out. Interesting that the flower looks upside down with those leaves on top. |

Cool shot; he does pose well. Although the camo is as nature intended, your subject gets a little lost in the wash of similar tones. Brighten him up a little so we can see him smile. |

Thanks folks. I see what you mean, Cindy, esp. toning down those greens |
