57 Apr 23 Comment Luv chess and if this set was made in Japan, the pieces are probably Ivory. I agree with the others, the background in way too distracting for many reasons. Another photo session would be fun; if the Japanese lettering is on a surface that could take up the entire background that would make a great story. There is another tall piece behind the Queen, is that the King? Maybe show him in shot and use f5.6, etc to some more charters to the story. I guess since I'm nit-picking, I would like to see a little more even, diffused light on the three central figures. The specular highlights may not do well if you ever wanted print these images. 57 Apr 23 Comment Really nice image Tom, capture your story very well. Like the vertical lines in the column and rails; the pealing paint is great, it just screams decay. I am torn about the rusty pipe on the right; luv rusty stuff. Some viewers may find it distracting. Apr 19th
57 Apr 23 Comment Nice capture; better to capture with the setting you got than not at all. Yeah, she is very expressive, cool. I like Cindys crop. I do think the image comes across better when lightening it up some esp. if you are going to print it. But a more selective dodge and burn would work for Rylee; the look great brighter, but like those rosy cheeks just a tad darker and maybe the hair also. Parts of forehead in Cindys version look a little hot and may wash out when printed. I agree the noise doesn't really show for an ISO shot at 5000. Apr 19th
57 Apr 23 Comment Interesting folk art and very photo worthy. I like the color image better, I think it tells a stronger story. I agree with Cindy that the out of focus figures on the right are a distraction; the front most figure is you center of interest and should be in focus to hold the viewers attention. It's a good study in Depth of Field. Also, I think that white vertical 'bar' on the far left is also distraction. Apr 19th
57 Apr 23 Comment Very nice vertical composition. Purple is always nice for flower images. I think you have captured the essence of this champion bulb giving it's all. The three dropping petals on the left give a real sense of downward motion. The green V shaped leaves make for a powerful composition. Apr 19th
57 Apr 23 Comment Well done. Pansies do bring thoughts of Spring, although the weather here in WI just returned to winter like crap. I like the square crop and colors are great. The fold lines in the petals make nice leading lines. Apr 19th
57 Apr 23 Comment Thanks folks; yea didn't think about this image enough, not close up. Just got carried away. Apr 19th
