Thanks Cindy. I will make the changes that you and others have posted. I appreciate the feedback; I was bothered by that one blurry stamens but the grouping in the upper left never caught my eye, so it's good to get feedback. |

Nice shot Andrew; good idea creating your own beach scene. I like your lighting but I might suggest bumping up the shadows on the bottom of the Sand Dollar. I think Elements has a Structure slider that might bring out the details that Cindy talked about, if you paint it in just on the Sand Dollar. Adding a vignette to tone down the bright corners might help keep the viewers eye centered on your main subject. |

Cactus can really have some amazing flowers. I like the contrasts between the leaves and stamens(?). I agree with Jessica that reducing some of those blown out highlights would be helpful. On the background, mmm, if it's busy and distracting maybe just leaving it dark is a better bet. Possibly, using HSL sliders brighten up the yellows in those leaves in the middle to help pull the view into the image. |

Interesting little critter; you captured him well, nice and sharp. The only thing I might suggest is crop in tighter all the way to bring more attention to your primary subject. |

Beautiful image Nelson. I like the crop also and how it radiated out from the center. Looks like the in camera focus stacking worked well; what f stop were you using? |

Beautiful composition Cindy; well balance and the lighting is great. I like how the water drops are so uniformly shaped and distributed through out the image. The leaves in background is a nice touch; helps frame the flower but doesn't distract. I like the reflection but I think it might have a tendency to pull the viewers eye off the page. Maybe using a graduated filter to dark it more toward the bottom of the page could be useful. |

I luv to photograph succulents; their color and texture can change so much just based on the light. I agree with Cindy, her crop is good - for both color and B&W, removes that distracting line. Hard to tell using the phone but your f stop was probably pretty small (2.8, etc.), a larger f stop and more depth of field would probably brought those leaves/petals in front more into focus. |

Thanks Jessica. I was hoping that I didn't get to heavy handed with the vignette but I really wanted to try to pull viewer focus to the middle. I agree, that bud on the left could go, or maybe be made darker. I'll go back and play with the file some more.

Thanks Marcela. Don't know what's going on with that one stamen, might be motion blur. Will go back and check the original RAW file; might just try to crop it out. |
