I agree; if the stamens were more isolated it would be a stronger composition. I should have laid on my back and shot upwards but then I could not have benefitted from leaning against the deck for support. |

Nice work Denise, your patience paid off. I like your crop and the Topaz color treatment; gives it a little bit of a mystical feel. Also, you captured a nice blend of softness but still enough detail to see the 'veins' in the petals. The only suggestion I might make is to brighten up the center a little bit to pull the viewer in. |

How cool is that; an extra surprise in your photo. I luv the story it tells - like this guy was watching you the whole time. Good sharpness on the spider and nice color on the flower, blends well with the background. I do like Denises crop, I think it does provide more focus on the spider. Well done, nice capture! |

Nice capture, Bill, I agree, this guy was giving you a great pose. I like the crop and the angle of the 'stem' he's resting on. Nice detail but I agree with Denise, maybe there's a little too much structure or sharpness added ? |

Nice image Carol; I like the pink on green, its pleasing to the eye. I see what you mean about the red veins in the background, nice touch. But a higher crop would work too, I think. |

Thanks Denise. Sometimes I fret too much about areas that are soft. I was happy to get this result handholding my 70-200mm f4. ;-) |
