I also like its simplicity. Good exposure and clarity; those little white hairs stand out and don't look blown out. I agree with Carol that a vertical crop with more space below the bud might make a stonger composition. Good idea, capturing the bud right before it opens. Owner what looks like now? |

Nice shot, John. Nice perspective; it works well for its body shape. Good sharpness and detail. I agree with Carol that a different crop could improve viewer focus. |

Nice image Bill, I agree that the orange and green work well together. Nice sharpness and contrast. I see what Carol is saying but I would worry busting the white point/exposure wold wash out some of that nice orange on the bug, and/or blow out some of it's highlights as well. If you could mask out the bug and just brighten the greens, that would work. But, overall the darkness doesn't bother me. |

Yes agreed, WOW, indeed. Love the shot, great color and sharpness and the white background is perfect for showing the dark hairs. Man, those eyes look great. Well done ! |

Thanks Carol. Kind of a sharpness vignette I guess. I always worry about over sharpening, appreciate your input. |
