I know what you mean; there is always that Lens we need for our next photo. [need ??? ha] I luv my a6500 but often wonder about moving up to a full frame format. I have been using mostly prime lens after I switched over to Sony. But there have been occasions when a zoom could have been useful, so I have my eye on the Sony 16-70mm e for the crop-sensor. |

Well done; luv this shot. I echo that the capture on the eyes are perfect; very sharp and are definetly the center of interest. I like the detail in the wing; it's so easy for them to get blown out. Great color; green background goes so will with the critter.
How do you like that a7rIII? The large image file sure gave you lots of room to crop with no loss of detail. The only thing I might add is a soft vignette to further pull the viewer into the image. |

Hi Bill
Good image; water flow, always a good subject to explore. As mentioned, I like the speed and flow and your exposure allow for capturing the bubbles. I agree that showing more of the top would strengthen the image. I think viewers would wonder what the top looks like. Maybe a vertical format would provide that full view, and also eliminate the white hot spots in the three corners. I would never thought to use a shutter speed of 1/400 of a second but it really works well for this image and the water in your fountain. |

Wow, Nadia, great image. Well done with the focus stacking; something I've wanted to try. Love the color and even placement of the dew drops. I understand what folks are saying about the outer edges. I'm assuming you took this as a RAW file. So you should have some room to crop - maybe a square crop. Bring us closer to the middle of the flower; I know it would change what you had in mind for the composition but would be interested in seeing a side by side comparison. "Blush", perfect color description; you must have a green thumb as well as a photographers eye. |

Well I like shooting mushrooms and fungi as well; high five for getting on level ground with that little guy. As others mentioned, I think clearing the grass and other clutter in front of 'room' would give the viewer a clearer view of your main subject. Adding some selective clarity and/or dynamic contrast would help bring out the textured surface. And maybe a soft vignette to help pull the viewer into the image. |

I like the image; moving water always give calm, cool mood. As others have mention, the sandstone and corroded metal troughs blend well. I'm wondering how a vertical crop may work putting more attention on the first 'waterfall'? I like Will's point of 'rough stones vs. soft water' |

Thanks Will. I really wanted to get those hairs sharp, that's why my attention was not on how deep the shadows were. Actually, for this shot, my a6500 was on a tripod but I had the ball head tension very loose so I had good range of movement. Even with this light cameral, I have problems shooting macro handheld. Don't have the steadiest grip in the world. I like the lighting in this shot as well but as I mentioned above, I've been known to shoot 'dark'. 😎 |

Thanks Nadia, yes indeed, I think a ring light is in my future. |

Hi Carol: Haven't tried a ring-light but it's on my wish list. I hesitated with the florescent ones - priced right but low lumen value. The high end strobes where to pricey for me. But some of the newer LED look like a good compromise. I have a tendency to make a lot of my images too dark. Part of it is taste, and another I think that my computer screen needs calibration. Thanks for your suggestion; I am returning to the image to try some of these changes. |

Thanks Bill, I understand what you mean about insects. I was lucky with this shot because it was a cool morning and the Bee was moving slow. |
