1 Sep 18 Comment I Neal, just visiting from Group60: Yup, you capture the reflections perfectly; good light in this shot. Sep 8th
1 Sep 18 Comment Hi Dennis; just visiting from Group 60. Nice image; when I visit saw it I though it was an underwater shot, almost looked like a piece of coral. I like the contrast of the colors and good use of the 'ole rule of thirds. Sep 8th

60 Sep 18 Comment Thanks Nadia: for sure the holes make the shot, I think. Allowed me to show some depth and as you say, those curved, sloppy lines give the viewer something to focus on . Sep 9th
60 Sep 18 Reply Thanks for that repost Bill; call me right-handed but I think I kind of like the right to left fan out of the veins. But still, great detail and very nice image. Sep 8th
60 Sep 18 Comment Hey Will - don't you just luv that Sony 90mm macro. It's a good piece of glass. One of the things you hear a lot about in text book approaches to composition is that the eye is drawn to white areas of an images. That's probably the case here where the bright spot on the far right might distract from your point of interest. I like that center leaf; with the vertical red line and then the horizontal yellows. Kind of forms a triangle which attracts the eye. Maybe a tighter crop would emphasize that element. I played around with it a little; my crop on the small jPeg kinda of ruined your sharpness but the middle leaf has a lot of character. Sep 8th
60 Sep 18 Comment Nice capture, Nadia. Having the two light sources really helps bring out the bee's detail without overwhelming those translucent wings. I can understand your issues with the blowout highlights. I wonder, was the bee still enough for you too try taking a series of HDR images? If so, maybe that's a way of handling the wide dynamic range. I agree that the reds really add to the image. I wouldn't worry so much about the eye focus point; bug eyes are so black anyhow, probably not much detail there. It's nice that you have the flash catch light in the eye; give that finishing touch. Did you use a tripod for this shot? Sep 8th
60 Sep 18 Comment Greeting Bill: I luv the crop on this image and the abstract feel it brings, as you mentioned. I'd be curious to see the image before you did the horizontal flip. Nice shade of green and good balance in the lighting. Sep 8th
60 Sep 18 Comment Ah fall, some much color, so little time. I think you have captured the current timing of the calendar with this image, Carol. It's not quite fall yet, so you have plenty of green with nice transitions to yellow and red. I agree with Nadia that the red stems provide a nice leading line into the middle of the image. I'm not a fan a white vignettes but I think it does work here keeping the photo bright and upbeat and maybe implying some sun backlighting. Sep 8th
60 Sep 18 Comment Hey, thanks Will. The more input, the better. I like your approach, although my cheese was not that white. Funny about this color. It does have a slight yellow cast because it's a more 'natural' cheese, not as white as some of the processed swiss stuff out there. Now that I've away from it for several days, I may go in and play around with the HSL sliders a little. Maybe it's not the yellow slider I need to adjust, maybe its the green ??? Sep 8th
