I cannot tell if he is scared or happy, anyway looks like a lot of fun. The image is very sharp and has a nice diagonal through the image. Maybe a pinch more contrast might help.. but it might not. |

This is a lovely image with a nice composition and warm tones. Perhaps dodge the purple and yellow parts so they stand out more. Perhaps a little shadow recovery as well might give it a little more pop. |

A nice pose and l like the tight cropping on the right. The black and white version comes off as a little bright. Also, before converting to black & white, there is an area at her line in the top right corner that could be darkened. |

Great little woodpecker, I have always enjoyed photographing them. I think I prefer the color one as well because the red spot on his lower belly gets lost along with the green area growing on the branch. I think the black and white version could use more contrast in the darker regions. |

The size of a quarter, that is pretty small! Nice job of framing and the purple colors are nice and work with the little bit of green. It does appear a pinch soft probably because of your slow shutter speed. Interesting choice of a white vignette, I wonder what the opposite might have looked like. |

This is a wonderful image and a great find! I like how the main piece of metal is front of the bright area which makes it really stand out. The warm color palette is also really nice. I have to agree with Danny, top right, button left and other piece of metal. |

Actually, I do not, I am in a Bortle 6/7 in a western suburb of Orlando. |

I really like the composition and great idea of flipping the fence, it leads right to the mountains and right by the lovely flowers. Perhaps open the shadows a pinch with the mountain on the left. Love the flower portrait! |

You are probably going to hear similar comments, great old bridge and the sky could use a little more pop and possibly desaturate the green a tad. |

Pretty cool image, you do use the panorama technique effectively with your wide views. The process is very smooth and outside lighting is nice and subtle. Possibly what Jane is seeing is a VERY slight curvature with the 12/24 lens (floor & door are level). Possibly a little more contrast and texture. |

They make 2x Barlow lenses but they degrade image quality. The scope makers do make extenders that are matched to their scope, less than 1.5x. I am looking at a new scope that will roughly cover from 270 to 600mm with reducer and extender. This will be great for nebulae. |

For me as well.. I am involved with some astrophotography groups on Patron. If the weather cooperates, there 2 star party locations that are not terribly far and we can also camp there for the weekend.
Other than that, no, the somewhat local camera club (45 minutes away) hasn't had a guest speaker (besides Zoom) since covid. |

That's awesome! My inactivity is partly due to Covid and less travel, moved 3 years ago to a new town with almost no birding (hour plus drive to go birding), plus a bit unmotivated to go birding since I have seen the same species for a long time and our migration is definitely decreasing, been busy getting a place ready to rent on vacation home sites (AirBnB, VRBO, etc), unemployment for 4 months and new job, new marriage, change in friendships, a lot has happened in 3 years. |

I shoot quite a bit less of everything including HDR, that is why I have latched onto deep space astrophotography which I can do from my backyard. The stacks are definitely for noise and to expand the dynamic range to bring more out of the original data. People typically stack hundreds of photos depending of if they are shooting color or mono.
Info on the 3 galaxies in the photo.

Beautiful stained glass! The church I grew up in had wonderful stained glass as well. The blend looks absolutely seamless and who knew there were 5 images used to create the final image.
So you chopped off part of the red wing the top left and bottom right corner? The generative fill added all those circles around the arch? Would be interesting to see one of the originals. |
