I did not realise that the first book "A morbid taste for bones" was based upon fact about how a party from the abbey travelled into Wales to get some bones of a saint so that they could have a shrine for pilgrims. The monks did collect some bones of St Winefride from Wales in 1138 and they remained in a shrine until the abbey was dissolved in 1540 |
