Thanks! I was under a deadline - the landscaper was there and pulling weeds and this one had only bloomed that morning. I think I have another set where the aperture is much more open and I'll see if I can "rescue" that set to see if it's any better. |

Angela - I really love your work. And another stunning example of water drops. I'm really in awe. I love the colors and the placement of the elements. It almost reminds me of an abstract "Queen of Hearts" with a lovely crown. Thanks! |

I really like this shot. It's fun and unexpected and has a great impact. I agree that shooting "wildlife" has it's own set of challenges but you've got it's eyes perfectly sharp. I would have cropped a bit more of the white foreground out but not all the way in, as I think the yellow perfectly offsets the tans/browns of the spider. Thanks! |

Charles, I really like the subject and appreciate the amount of time/effort you put into your submissions. The colors are amazing and the structure of the mineral makes a nice contrast between the inside and outside of the rock. The lighting is excellent and I love the subtle background variegation. I'll have to try to look at my slices more as single images and improve them as well, than just a means to smash them together. Thanks! |

I love the colors and the texture of the shells and you've captured those very well. For me, I found that the lighter areas were vying for my attention and I couldn't land on a focal point, between them and the three inner spirals. I would have loved to see the separation between the shells or a different placement/composition as I feel a bit lop-sided when looking at it. Can't wait to see the revision! |

Lynne - I would never have guessed at how tiny this is in real life! I really like the effect of the water as a base and I'm a total sucker for good Bokeh. However, I do find those reflections in the water to be a bit distracting in the foreground, so if this were my photo, I would have cloned out those just on the water - maybe that would have provided a bit more depth as well. And more ideas to add into my 'to do' list (love that water effect). |
