65 Dec 18 Comment thanks all! This was one of the first photos I ever processed in Lightroom and was still working out my "eye" for that. At some point, I'll go back and re-work it. Dec 28th
65 Dec 18 Comment Angela -- great shot of the butterfly (we seem to have a 'theme' this month!). I love the contrast on the wings and how sharp everything is on it. I do agree with Charles on the lower right hand corner appearing to disappear off with the black background, but I think it would work with a white mat or border if you're printing it. Dec 28th
65 Dec 18 Comment I love images that have a dark/black background so there's nothing to compete with the main subject. This almost has a painted feeling to the image and has a strong emotional feeling to it! George... what software do you use to combine the slices? I'm still struggling with the execution of my "stacking" attempts. Thanks! Dec 28th
65 Dec 18 Comment George! Welcome to the group! I like the photo, but for stock shots you might have changed the angle just a bit to lose the tree on the right and the odd two flowers above the red/white tulip. (i also do a lot of stock-type shots and am still learning what's the difference between that and my fine art stuff). I'll agree with Janos on the macro side of things; focusing on one of the flowers in detail would be great, as I'm having a bit of bouncing focus between the red one on the left and the purple/white one on the right. I've made an adjustment as shown here as to what I mean. Note: I've also deleted all your files/photos from my computer! Dec 28th
65 Dec 18 Comment Janos... i completely understand about the 'natural' setting for bugs and such and how hard it is to get the little things to stand sitll! I really like the photo with the changes Charlie made but love the original colors and vibrancy. The only thing I would have changed would be to increase some space at the bottom as it seems a bit "short" unless there was something weird there. Great shot! Dec 28th
