Understood. The artist in me sometimes forget the rules of PSA and others. Still a great image. As you stated in your description of the image...you have imagined this image every year. One of the luxuries of being a photographer with vision is not only the focal points of the image but also our body placement for the shot. I love the action, the angle, the crowd in the far background. It would be perfect without the officer. What about a crop? |

Decisive Moment! A classic of runners with feet off the ground. Low POV is excellent. I would clone out the officer on the left -- his orange vest is very distracting.
I agree with the others about the history and tradition of your culture. I still hope to get to India -- it is a bucket list item. |

Nice capture -- I would suggest a slight vignette around the bears to tone down the greens. That may also bring more sharpness to the bears which is the real focal point. I envy the trip to Alaska. At my age I probably will never get there. I've only missed two States in my travel. |

Keith a lovely image. At first glance I thought there was a spider in the middle, but you captured all the bloom. I agree with Laurie about bringing down the "whites." |

Thank you for the welcome and your comments.
I understand the comments about "homelessness and desperation" -- may I clarify -- this is really about the choice of using drugs and addiction. The whole area of Mathare Valley is the most extreme poverty I have ever seen. Most people in the Valley aspire to better conditions and choose not to resort to drugs. Even in the most extreme poverty people make choices for better or worse. Or even in the most wealthy places -- people still make choices. (Sorry for the clarification.) |

Keith thanks for the suggestion and image using hue/saturation -- it makes a difference.
