Did I see your name on an image about "walking on a salt field" or something like that? |

Thanks Hung. It's definitely not a "feel-good" image. It was in the golden hour, in a new place where I have never been. It does evoke emotional responses. A photography instructor, friend of mine, said the following about this image, "To my mind, this juxtaposition sets up a disturbing contrast or tension between the serenity of a spiritual setting and the clutter of urban modernization." |

The lower left corner is actually a dark shingled roof on a house, I wish it were a bush. I don't think the image was meant to give a "good feeling" the idea was about confusion. For me, the cloud is a peaceful feeling or calming presence. From a judging point of view is it about the technical or about the emotion? That is the rub for any judge or photographer/artist. Thank you for your comments. |

Laurie -- Thanks for seeing the "eyes." This piece can have so many feelings. It is an interpretive piece of "Dark vs. Light" "Chaos vs. Calm" (the calm being the floating cloud above it all). Thanks for your comment. |

Don't you hate it when you get to that Iconic location and there are no clouds in the sky. Therefore, I would crop out at least 1/2 or more of the sky. The canyon lands are the focal point now.I also would crop out the left side and let the leading lines of the canyon become more prominent as the focal point, which it already is, but taking away the excess sky and the excess canyon on the left makes it more so. |

A classic calendar image of the Western mountains and farms. (And I don't mean that as critical.) The aspen yellow and the leading line of the fence that keeps you in the image. I would clone out the white spot on the right, but other than that I would not change anything. |

I have been to many places in Asia and this is an iconic shot of life in parts of Asia. I think the contrast of the boy and his modern dress as opposed to the traditional dress of the women adds to the story of the image. I think I would crop the right side and the top. The focal point is the boy with the women. |

The stability of the image is very good. The contrast is, I believe, excellent. I wonder at times why people take the images they do and what the story is. It seems to me that your story, and this image, would be an excellent part of a whole series of the Railroad. Nicely done. |

It is a hodgepodge of plants balanced in a hodgepodge background of more plants. Without the story of revival and resurrection from tragedy I think the image is flat. Others have suggested some shadow detail for more DOF. |

I like the sharpness of the dancer. I like that both feet are off the ground. I would have preferred a more shallow DOF to blur the back ground (maybe f/4) Over all good stop action shot. |
