15 Aug 18 Reply Its a lazy rainy Sunday here in Brisbane - will have fun trying to get it right! Thank you. Aug 25th
15 Aug 18 Comment Joan - thank you so much for the tip - I actually did try to change the colour of the collar but failed miserable. Will give your suggestions a try. cheers Nadia Aug 25th
15 Aug 18 Comment Hi Linda. I love this! I like how you caught the words - Why I love New York - just behind her. I think you got her to pose beautifully for you and to me it all looks very sensual. I like how her lipstick, her hairband and the number '25' in the bottom left hand corner all echo the same colour tone. I find the way the light is hitting the left side of her face and how it casts a soft shadow across her arm very interesting. I suggest you consider not cropping the original image - to me I like the rest of the poster and how the leg and the chair direct our gaze to her lips, I also like the fact that I see more of the subway train window and that, for me, completes the story. I think this is a very strong Street Photography Image. Beautiful Capture! Nadia Aug 18th
15 Aug 18 Comment Hi Tianji, well the trek was certainly worth it because this image is spectacular! Great capture of the water trails and I love the leading lines they create. I particularly like the slow capture of the water movement in the foreground. Perfect aperture setting because I find the detail in the stationary rocks and trees is pin tack sharp right across the image.
I find that the sunlight hitting the scene on the very top edge of the image a touch distracting and I am not sure if toning it down is the answer or if you should consider a tighter crop, you may find that it would strengthen the visual impact of the main rock outcrop. Beautiful capture. Nadia

15 Aug 18 Comment Hi Rick. Flowers and Bees are my favourite subjects. You captured this with an iPhone - wow - I had to look up the web to see how one can take Macro shots with an iPhone - I might give it a try.
I like the colour tones of the reds on the flower as they are a complementary colour to the yellow/greens that are in the centre of the flower and up along the petals. The detail on the petals also have wonderful leading lines taking me to the centre of the image. I find that the light is quite beautiful across the flower and that even though there are shaded areas there is still detail in them.
I would like to see the background toned down as you may find it would keep the focus on the flower. Nadia

15 Aug 18 Comment Hi Carmen, great capture. The Eyes have it - dramatic, sharp and clear - just perfect. The background colour palette compliments Horton well and adds to the visual appeal of the image. For me the overall composition is very well done, I like that he is on a diagonal filling the frame and that there is enough room around him - all very well balanced. Nadia

15 Aug 18 Comment Hi Joan, Oh Wow. As soon as I opened this image I was hooked. I loved it. For me the repetition of the yellow adds to the visual presentation - just perfect. Good shutter speed as you captured the water spray - very dramatic and it all tells a lovely story to me. You have a wonderful image here.
I suggest you consider using a vignette as it may strengthen the visual impact of the subject. One thing that I hear judges say all the time is to have room for the subject to move into the frame so I suggest cropping from the right and giving the puppy more room on the left of the frame to see if this gives the overall image a stronger sense of movement. (this would also place the subject on the rule of thirds which you may find will strengthen composition of the image)
I have just looked up the Net and found that we also have a dog surfing comp at Noosa, Queensland - you have inspired me. Nadia

60 Aug 18 Comment Welcome Bob, You certainly captured the white fuzz. This is a lovely image. I like the background - shades of dark green to compliment the sunflower. My favourite part is the curved tips of the leaves and how they all lead my eye back down into the white fuzz of the plant. Nadia Aug 13th
60 Aug 18 Comment Hi Bill, beautiful image, nice and sharp. There is good detail right across the wasp - I love the fine hairs you captured and the delicate detail in the wings. Background is nice and blurred. I would have liked to see the tip of his antenna on the bottom left hand corner of the image . I suggest toning down the whites in the flower directly behind the eyes. Great capture. Nadia Aug 13th
60 Aug 18 Comment Hi Carol, this is very creative. I like how you got the catch light in the eye. Good plain background and nice colour tones. Great composition. The front right area of the perch is a little distracting and yes it is a shame he was not facing you. Nadia Aug 13th
60 Aug 18 Comment Hi Denise, Lovely sharp detail across the face and wing. I love how the light hits her face. Good range of tones used. My only suggestion is to tone down the bright highlight on the far right hand top corner of the frame. Great Capture. Nadia Aug 13th
60 Aug 18 Reply Hi Carol - I do have more room all around the Bee on the original image so will work on that crop - many thanks for the feedback. Now that you bring it to my attention it seems obvious. cheers. Aug 13th
60 Aug 18 Reply Thank you Bob - never give up coffee. I take 100s of images to get one that is ok - I take a lot of rejects shots before I get one acceptable image. Aug 11th
60 Aug 18 Reply Thank you Bill. I did try the off camera flash the other day and am fairly happy with the result - will post the image next month. Aug 9th
