Pleasing image, Tom. After seeing the color, I think I prefer it because of the flowers, the tree distinction and the feel of summer. Either way, you could crop down to the top of the trees because you could still see clouds, sky, mountains, carriage, and flowers but viewer's eye would focus more on the main subject. |

One more possibility is to crop off the top just above the frontmost cross piece so the focus is on the first curve of the stairs and it eliminates the heavy top metal. It would be less complicated and more focused. I like Jennifer's version. Thank you Stephen for choosing an image that we can play around with. |

This is an interesting image. It looks like something from a market place in the Middle East. The quinoa flowing out from left to right is unique and I like the texture of the pot. There appears to be a quality of movement as if someone just spilled the beans. Maybe it is a result of the stacking. I've never tried that but do like the effect. |

I love this image. He seems to be looking you straight in the eye with a penetrating but playful gaze like an old uncle! I like the sharpening and do not think it is too much for normal viewing. Great foot, great feathered wing. Nice toning. No halo. If you are entering in Pictorial and there is no rule against cloning, maybe you could get rid of that stain altogether using content aware on the post as the shine of it keeps bringing my eye down. |

Sorry to be late with my comments. The look on this model's face is rough and matches the roots growing out in her hair and slightly crossed eye. Perhaps she'd come across stronger if the pose was more of her face. That said, I like the pose, provocative as some have said. At first the blur effect made me think her hands are out of focus. Perhaps trying it without the blur and a slightly darker vignette? |

Thank you, Stephen, for your comments about literary symbolism. Perhaps the artist had those things in mind. Performance art is tricky to photograph because I'm actually photographing someone else's artwork and calling it my photograph, come to think of it. What do you and others in the group think of that? Photos were not disallowed but it occurs to me that I should give credit to the artist who dreamed up this whole shindig, right? |
