32 Nov 18 Comment Hi Jennifer,
I'd like to see the original so I could judge whether or not you've gone too far with the high key aspect and if there is enough information in the landscape just above the fence to clarify it a bit. I love the leading line from the fence, up the spiral staircase, and into the top of the lighthouse.

32 Nov 18 Comment I love to see human beings in deep concentration and this shot is exceptional in that way. The tight crop allows you to focus on the subject, but we can also see his artifacts around him (tools, rope, basket, pottery, etc.)which gives him context. If you could play with the tone slider it may alleviate the flatness; it needs some darker darks but cannot afford to brighten those highlights any further. Nov 14th
32 Nov 18 Comment Really nice stop of action which catches the climbing gesture just right. I like both black and white and color. If you could select the lower foot and tone down that highlight it would call less attention to it and the viewers eye would be spread overall. I also like the way this photo captures the concentration of the child. Her eyes need to be focused on where she is going! Can the rocks be smoothed out in the shadows? Nov 14th

32 Nov 18 Comment Also, here it looks noisy where on my screen it did not. Maybe it's because I sent the image from a copy on my phone.
At any rate, I'm creating a body of work on mountain tops with clouds and mist not only because I happened to be in a place where I could see them but because I'm reading David Hinton's ideas about consciousness and landscape, derived from his walks up Hunger Mountain in Vermont and his translations of Ancient Chinese poetry. I'm interested in how landscape speaks to the human being and wonder if the human made balloons would interrupt that theme. Also, some of the photographs proposed for the series have balloons in color. Do you think that would work?

32 Nov 18 Comment Overall stunning image. I especially like the quality of the subtly dramatic sky. A slight improvement would be to darken the upper right corner of the building to contrast it with the white sky a little more. Nov 14th
