20 Apr 24 Reply I just made adjustments in ACR and played with the sliders in edit, then in HSL: desaturated blue; slightly increased saturation of red and slightly decreased exposure of yellow, blue and red. All to look. Apr 14th
20 Apr 24 Reply Your question pushed one of my hot buttons. Did you make the image as your expression, or to please a judge who may have different taste. As an example: When I first joined my CC the judge scored it 4.5 and in essence called it a POS. I liked it. A few years later I was a salon worker. That very same image was runner up for print of the year. As another part of my answer, I took the liberty of playing and did your image in my personal style. Having said that, consider removing the halo from the back of the top right birds. As a more direct answer, If you will not lose your house if your image doesn't do well, go for it.

20 Apr 24 Comment Beautiful and creative image. I partially agree with Fran's comment, to me it looks like three separate images on a wall. Consider putting a frame around the image to bind them into one or, adding directionally uniform drop shadows to each object. Apr 12th
20 Apr 24 Comment You have used an ordinary image as the starting point for a creative image with a mysterious look.

BTW: The style of the house reminds me of Savanah, GA.

20 Apr 24 Comment Wow! A very creative image with a lot of impact. The top and bottom birds flying towards each other are in symmetry with the orb; the tonal variations keep the image interesting; and the lightning bolts harmonically add impact. Well, done. Apr 12th
20 Apr 24 Comment Nice result. Your work in post gave impact to a beautiful image. I wish there was no halo around the model. To my eyes it makes her look pasted in. Perhaps a mild blur around her would help. Apr 12th
20 Apr 24 Reply Thanks, for the suggestion. Since both horses are about the same color, I'll probably change the color of the horse. Apr 12th

79 Apr 24 Comment Thank you, I am more eager than before to try to get there. I went on an interesting trip not to far from there. We sort of followed the Northeast portion of the trip taken by John Steinbeck, as described in his book: Travels with Charley. We even took our dog. (Charley was Steinbeck's poodle.) Apr 18th
79 Apr 24 Comment Lauren, Great job on a difficult capture I mostly agree with the above comments but, think cropping would show more intimacy with the owl. I took the liberty of showing my suggestions in a reworked image. If you plan to enter the image in a local CC competition, then consider Karl's suggestion about a horizontal flip. Apr 17th
79 Apr 24 Comment Karl, this image has great impact. Centering the model adds to the illusion that she is taking a chilling delve into the occult. The lighting change that Gerrard suggested could very well lesson the chill factor. The lack of a border gives a feeling of infinity, which adds to the mysticism. Very well done.

I have never heard of Bread and Puppets, but after looking it up, I can see spending a few days there. As I can no longer drive for an extended time, I will try to a practical alternative way.

79 Apr 24 Comment Freddie, Karl has a valid point. You might want to consider an abstract of some koi to add a focal point. Apr 17th
79 Apr 24 Reply Thanks for your comment. As a statement on what is happening, as opposed to what I would prefer, the bw is chasing the color. Apr 17th
79 Apr 24 Reply Thank you. I will be taking out a bunch of the birds. Apr 17th
79 Apr 24 Reply Hi Karl, your comment is quite perceptive. The monochrome is chasing the color. I used birds because I recently saw a story about Tippi Hedren. Apr 17th
79 Apr 24 Reply I listed most on a copy of the image, with Shakey red lines pointing to the area. Note some areas have duplicate names. This will give you a tough idea.
cow
roller skater
dog-mutt
daschound
stream with rocks
sea horses
bird or insect
monster
snail
manta ray
deer.

79 Apr 24 Comment A minimalistic gem. To me the green background adds a lot of impact. Well done. Apr 14th
79 Apr 24 Comment Unfortunately, I cannot see the image. Apr 14th
79 Apr 24 Comment Intriguing and well a executed abstract. Although I can see many interpretations of what the components represent, they harmonize to make an intriguing image. Apr 14th
