I incorporated both Susan's and Brian's suggestions. I think the image works better. Thank you for your comments. |

Brian,
This is a very interesting image, which can be interpreted in many ways. I like the ying and yang of the gun and the armour, which is amplified by the sharp to blur. I do have an issue in that the bright blurs keep my eyes from concentrating on the rest of the image. I wish they were not quite so bright, and there were fewer bright flare spots. |

You have created a nice, well exposed image that will help you remember your visit. The balloons help to fill out an otherwise blank sky. If this was my image I would have: substituted a bit of clouded sky; varied the oil paint filter; deleted the sign in front; and cropped more of the left side of thee building, so the eave corner crop did not look like an accident. I have redone the image, to give you an idea of what I mean. |

Susan,
You have taken an ordinary image and through your creative imagination turned it into an interesting image. I like your use of color tonality for a border. The combination of your color choices and the texture adds up to a spooky effect. The inconsistency in the direction of light source is consistent with the spooky feel of your image. The lightning bolt acts as an enhancement of the feeling. Just one minor nit, the straight line, or crease, at the top of the tree distracts me a bit, and to me appears inconsistent with the theme. I eliminated the line to show what I mean. |

I like this image and your use of the Ink OUtlines Filter. To my eye the almost solid black of the two trees dominate the image, and intrude upon the pastel tranquility of the image. If this was my image in addition to Brian's suggestion, I would have brightened up the foreground. |

Joan, Very clever and cute composite, that is well done. I agree with Brian that the graduated starry sky takes it out of the ordinary. Your image proves that it is still fun to play with balloons. |

Susan, thank you for solving my issue. I was originally thinking of adding a light streak, but that would have made the image too busy. I think a low opacity layer of blurry dark clouds would work. I will have to play with it and see whether clouds or buildings works better. As I mentioned in reply to Brian, I am inclined towards clouds. However, I will see where the image leads me. |

Brian, thanks for your comments. I think ou reversal does indeed make a stronger image. That bright spot, caused by another fireworks shot, was distracting but i left it in to act as an anchor. I like Susan's suggestion of an uneven black cloud on the bottom. |
