Sam--I like it! I agree with Neal about the diagonal but not the black water. Blackness makes the image seem more abstract. I also think that the one horizontal boat adds interesting contrast to the overall flow of the image. My one suggestion is to get rid of the partial boats on the left and right. They don't add color and the distract my eye out of the frame. |

David--very interesting image! I'm quite fond of shadows (I realize that it's a silhouette not a shadow) but I've never shot anything like this one. Love the color! If you had it to do over, and I realize that you will never see this again, I would have advised a step or two to the right, so that the tree doesn't merge with the strong vertical shadow to the right. Otherwise, good capture! |

Sol--Were you on a tripod or handheld? If the latter, what an amazing shot at 500-600mm! The tight crop didn't bother me. |

Joey--I agree with the other comments. Contrast between red flowers and green background adds dimension. And reducing the highlights on the petals (if you can, of course) would be helpful. |

Thanks for explaining how you created this image (I'm not familiar with Topaz Remask). Also good to have the original for comparison purposes. The photo gives me an old-timey feel, almost like finding pressed flowers in a forgotten album from years ago. |

The head of the bird is what attracted my eye--and what you wanted me to see, I assume. The shapes of the neck and bill are marvelous! Question--would it be possible to see more texture in the feathers on the body? |
