21 Aug 18 Reply Thanks for noticing and correcting Peter. Its so important to look at every part of a photo up close. It is an improvement. Aug 25th
21 Aug 18 Comment I was surprised as well that I could get details out of the tree trunk. What our digital tools do for us! I have tried a lot of different uses for this tree, from B_W to sunny day, etc. But this one is my favorite. Now at least! Aug 25th
21 Aug 18 Comment I'm a sucker for those gorgeous bright colors, so I find this very appealing. The deep blues of the background are perfect to set off the fireworks. I do think the image needs work at the bottom to anchor the shot. You might clone out the bottom with more black clouds, or insert a skyline thats also blurry, so we have a feeling of being participants in this color and light display. There are lens distortions (bokehs) that are white, which is a contrast to the other intense colors. I think they add a positive element, but the biggest one might need a little cloning to tighten it up and eliminate the blur streak. Nice job! Aug 12th
21 Aug 18 Comment There are some fascinating elements in this image. I would have liked to see the original posted as well. Your title focuses on dunes and mountains. But the two trees are dominating, and they are impenetrable in their black inkiness. You might try selecting them out and doing the filter on the rest of the image. And then chosing a different filter for the trees for a treatment that is not so dominant. Also, the color palate without the trees tends to the pastel, which makes the black trees stand out in opposition, color-wise. Aug 12th
21 Aug 18 Comment This image brings up lots of interpretations to me. The glorious gun is truly a feature with terrific color and detail. The fading focus on the gun also works to lead our eye into the armor. The glass cabinet has cast some light beams that made me think the gun was firing at the armor. Apparently this is Bokeh. I had to look that up, but here's the definition for newbies like me: "Bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens, "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light". The way this is situated in the image now doesn't work with the armor. I would adjust the gun and those glass reflections to line up and make the gun use the Bokeh. Otherwise its a little confusing to me. Fantastic images. Aug 12th
21 Aug 18 Comment Such a fun image that gets more depth as you look into its parts. It says a lot to me politically, but I won't go there! I especially appreciate the people in the balloon basket riding the skies with this droll Humpty Dumpty. The red balloon makes it just one big party, and the starry skies link us to the great beyond. Is it just a fun image or a profound statement of where we are today? Your title leads me to those thoughts. Wow. Aug 12th
