Fun. Intrigue. I think the fly is the perfect distance - if it got any close the frog would have shot out its tongue! This way, it makes the viewer wonder how much closer before the frog gets it. You background adds to the mystery and you feel like you have a special view of a hidden place. Very, very well done. Kudos+! |

Strong placement of the sun at the 1/3 intersection and good use of 3 bales of hay. Otherwise, I think you achieved what you set out to do. |

As to the spray around the surfer, clone in with what youhave at bottom center and it will convey more goblets of water. Otherwise a powerful image. My only other suggestion is to put the surfer at the 1/3 intersection of the left and top (as seen below). Print it on canvas and put it up on your wall! Kudos!! |

I love the watercolor-like effect you chose for this. Ditto on what been said above regarding the top right rose bud. I agree with Nancy about the pibk at lower right and its removal, which balances out the dark area at top left. Perhaps you coulld add some "breathing space" along the left edge for the rose bud. I really like the overall effect! |

Going out of your comfort zone is always a good idea - challenges keep us from falling too far down the hole of staleness. It also gives us a more keen eye for what we specialize in, more discernment. With trees and woodland photography, trees don't need to have their entire height show is it doesn't add to the story. Though some may love whispy clouds in the sky, to me the sky and clouds don't matter to the story of the image. You want an undistracted eye to walk down the row of trees and your leading line of the grass-covered tire ruts helps direct the eye. That's why I cropped off a portion of the image on the left, which drew my eye at first. The V-line of the tree tops also achieves the movement success. |

Henrietta, very well presented and balanced image! So much to "love" about it too. Why did you choose to lighten up the background bushes? I liked the way you cloned over the hole in the background at left, good touch! |

I think you capture of all elements is very well done. Choice of colors andx textures complements each. The vase nicely counterbalances the heavy black negative space at right and thirds appear nicely within the image. My only suggestion would be to clone out the light reflection on the fruit at far right. Kudos! |

Brrr, I don't want to go anywhere that's colder than Wisconsin! I admire your ambition!! I think you are attempting a minimalist image but the balance is off and the bottom right negative spacve is too "heavy". There is no counter balance to the penguin. I think that a square crop would be more beneficial (example below) and more dramatic if you opted for b&w. In this case, less is more I feel. I bet you got a lot of magnificent shots! |

Wow, what a fun day that must have been! Cash depends upon what place you come in for payout - USD$100,000s. The total purse is usually distributed on a descending basis by place you come in. The risk is to the motor and frame and loss of racing points if you finish too far back, out of the Top 10 in NASCAR. My only suggestion would be to crop it to the action while keeping the curve space at bottom right (suggestion below). I also lightened it up a tad. Car racing is fabulous and I think your chosen setup is right on! Getting cars that close is wonderful! |

What a fund place to go shooting! I agree with Quang about the blue and I'd also bring a little warmth back to the horizon line. I chose to use a square image so the long line of the birds at left alinged along the 1/3rd line. I bet you got a few more interesting shots here on this day! |

Compositon is very well done. I agree with John in clippng off the top but I'd also clip off a corresponding portion of the bottom. You'd still have a lovely embrace of the Washington Monument by cherry blossoms! |

The water is very well done to capture power in the foreground the softness as you go further back into the image. I like ther gradient of color in the sky giving it an feeling of enchantment. I think if you cropped in from the left and lost the boulder at bottom center it wouldn't be a loss if you desire to minimize the rocks at left. There is also one other close-in image within this that would be splendid too! Kudos! |

John, my first question is: What is the photo about: The birds? The fence? The water and sky? I think you included the lower fencing as a foreground object. But the foreground of the sandy area is bland - too bad there wen'te rocks coming in from bottom right and leading up to the fence. Maybe if you cropped a lot of the bottom off so the fence would point toward to boat at top right? Still, the boat is very small. |

Thanks Quang. I did use an ND filter and I didn't think I burned out the white at the left. I will check the larger final on my end. |
