56 Jul 21 Comment You amazed me by what you created! Nicely zeroed in to the story of the original image. Kudos! Jul 19th
56 Jul 21 Comment I really like the DOF you captured with the wheat foreground, the ear woods, and the distance woodland and farm, which is situated perfectly between the woodland elements. And the clouds provide the drama. A beautiful and pastoral scene improved through your artistry. Jul 19th

56 Jul 21 Comment This is an impactful b&w image and I appreciate the cropping. The tonal variety is well suited for your choice of b&w. I agree with Nancy about the river bank line being more horizontal. A very well done image! Jul 19th
56 Jul 21 Comment Both the final and Original 2 look fabulous to my eye and appeal to two different audiences. The final reminds me more of the Master paintings, which often made me feel that they didn't appreciate brightness and light in their homes! Kudos on both pieces! Jul 19th
56 Jul 21 Comment I really like your choice of Impression with this image. It doesn't bother me that the birds are sharper - that's what paintings of this nature give up. The tree top at bottom right is a distraction as others have pointed out. I have included a crop also as to what I see as the action of the image. I like the lighting from the sun on the birds and the sense of community it conveys. Jul 19th

76 Jul 21 Reply I suppose fires are linked to Satan and clouds to Heaven, though either fire or clouds can be menacing or helpful. Jul 19th
76 Jul 21 Reply Thank you for your burning suggestion. I hope the image below is an improvement along the lines you suggest. Jul 18th
76 Jul 21 Reply Jay, you and others sold me on a center weighted image. Thank you! Jul 18th
76 Jul 21 Reply I have used your suggestions below. Thanks for your input! Jul 18th
76 Jul 21 Comment Thank you all very much for your input. I have cropped to an 8x10 format, dodged and burned. The square format didn't quite include enough of the tree. I was hesitant to have the trunk in the middle, but your perspectives helped drive home the point that center is appropriate for this image. Jul 18th
76 Jul 21 Comment I like what you have tried to achieve with this! I have shot dance recitals but more from the eye of a sports photographer (which I was). The foreground young lady is the focus of the image with the others providing balance and contrast. The 2nd dancer from the left should have the highlights brought down on her. There should be more detail/definition on the foreground dancer and the background darkened/burned to set her more apart. With that burning the lighter circles will not be as distractive. Then adjust the foreground's dancer's face to match the mood you want. Really nice start! Jul 7th
76 Jul 21 Comment Soft focus is really "in" these days and you have done well here. You have detail in the middle highlights even when softened. The off-balance center yellow area is well placed. Nicely done! Jul 7th
76 Jul 21 Comment Nicely done and cropped! At first I thought the purple veins should be stronger in color, but then compared left to right and I believe you got it right. I like the different lighting in the final version. Nice contrast between the leaves harp and the veins too. Jul 7th
76 Jul 21 Comment I don't mind your cropping at all, it goes right to where the "action" is! I think you focused more on the the body in back of the eyes given the detail on the wings near that area. The head area is slightly out of focus those the "hair" on the legs stand out nicely. The stick and body can be slightly out of focus and that wouldn't bother me as far as impact. Maybe used an AI Sharpen app and see what that does? You can darken the background by increasing the shadow slider in PS or LR. Jul 7th
76 Jul 21 Comment What's not to love about this face! Nice background bokeh and the eye is sharp. I like the extra room at left to balance out the weight at right. I might use an AI Sharpen program to bring more detail into the nose and mouth. Jul 7th
76 Jul 21 Comment Every flame burst like this has a face. Have you seen it yet? I used to shoot fires as a photojournalist and I can say that the "face" is always in such a burst (HINT: 1/3 in from right, below the black area!). You have done well in processing this image and I like the contrast with the black background. The blur at ISO 200 is effective here. Nice capture! Jul 7th

88 Jul 21 Comment I'm a contrarian so I would keep the house on the hill, which sits about at the 1/3 vertical. From there the eye travels down trees to the the fields and blue roof below. From there is follows the wavy lines the the 3 mounds of hay (about at the 1/3rd vertical line) and then to the forest line, and then the eye goes up the hill only to stop at the house. I like the way you flipped the image for a better impact. I wouldn't change a thing! Jul 15th
88 Jul 21 Comment A lot going on in this simple image: you used 3 hills, the shaded side of one hills provides a geometric contrast to the hill curves, and the linear clouds in the sky added yet another contrast of shape. Jul 15th
88 Jul 21 Comment Very well done and excellent choices on the changes you made. Ditto on the spots of light along the bottom of the image - in fact you could darken the while bottom to make it a silhouette so as not to distract the eye. Kudos! Jul 15th
88 Jul 21 Comment Definitely tells a story Charles and more of a news shot that I am appreciative of given my background. A very good capture and I like the cropping to the action. Nice job on cleaning it up. Have you tried to Google this art piece to find out the painter? Jul 15th
88 Jul 21 Comment Purple Haze - something Prince would have liked! It's definitely something for a local appeal where people would be acquainted with what that area is. How would the impact of this differ if it were 16 inches wide and 9 inches high? Depends on what story you wanted to express in this fashion. Jul 15th
88 Jul 21 Comment Nice leading lines, good circular motion, and I really enjoy the river leading to the bridge. My only wish would be for a bit more sky at the top so the tree at left and the dome have more space. Why did you choose to extremely lighten up the trees and river bank at right? Jul 15th
