Hopper is one of my favs, so I have to say that I'm partial to what you used in Topaz! I like what you did to the rabbit but I think you need to have the sun from the left paint thru the grasses at left. I agree that you need to eliminate the distractions around the frame. The play of shadow and light adds to the story of the image. Why did you choose to juice up the yellow in the rabbit? Overall, a really nicely done image! |

I apologize, my typing erred. The work's title is "Lost In The Thicket."

There's a Latin maxim: quit tu recipitus et recipimontis - the receiver receives that which he is capable of receiving. That sums up abstract art for me. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't, sometimes I get something unique. This image has given me inspiration as my town hosts one of the largest car show sin the Midwest and what you created gives me motivation to see what i can do! The brown areas tell me that old cars have rust spots, they are part and parcel of the car. Not beautiful but like blemishes on a face, they are there. So I don't mind them. Why did you make the rust line blue? |

Wonderful job isolating the image from the background and creating a textured background which enhances the image. What made you choose those colors? I agree with Nancy about the hair. After the refinements Nancy touched on this image would be great on a canvas. I find the transformation quite impressive, kudos! |

I really like the way you create a fairy-like atmosphere to the image. The composited elements create a story that begs to be told. Why did you choose to put "smoke" on her upper right arm? Wreaths are like hats, everyone has their own tip to it but I think the important thing here is not to hide the face from the eyes down, which you succeeded at. Well done! |

I like your choice of b&w as it emphasizes special meaning, a place where you may have sat and pondered. The darkness of the brush behind helps to create a DOF that emphasizes isolation. But I am perplexed as the line of the image goes from the bench and down the pathway to where? It would have been nice if you could get your dog to sit out there and look back at the bench or have included someone walking toward the bench on the path. |

There is a lovely softness to this image which is very appealing in the way it contrasts with the foreground petals on the two flowers in the front. You can hardly tell the sync speed was off due to your processing. Why did you cutoff the foreground flower at left? |

Nice capture with the reflection! Hard to tell how sharp the heron's eye is or the feathers at this image's size. I don't think the branch over its head is a distraction but leads the eye in a circulation rotation within the image. I do think you could have cropped it closer to the "action" to make it more impactful (see image). |

I really like the detail on the foreground hawk(?) and the post its sitting atop. You have done a nice job on the sky background. Did you plan on the second hawk being out of focus? I think that works here to bring out the foreground hawk. The sea birds bottom right are a nice fill for that corner and allows you to keep the long boards at the bottom. I would erase the bird wings inside bottom of the back board. From my perspective, I would crop some of the top off as the foreground hawk's head balances out the birds at bottom right. Kudos! |

Nice capture! I like the way you softened the wave over the rocks(?) yet retained the sense of power. What did you do to enhance the lower third of the image? Are those 3 birds at top, if so I'd probably delete them as they are not clear, but that's about all I can nit pick about. The enhanced clouds set a mood. |

Gary, I don't apply a majority of presets at 100% opacity. Mostly 15-30% range. It's "by eye" so you play with the slider to bring it up for a subtle application. As to the halo, I brought a high res image up on my screen and it's actually the painting and gradient interaction that you see. It was hard for me to detect any halo even when enlarged. As far as PSA Exhibitions, I don't know that my stuff is good enough to enter. There's so much high-powered stuff there, I'd be out of the league. |

Nice vista shot and the cactus and grass blade (foreground left) are in focus. I think the colors look realistic. Is the image focus the cactus or the vita behind? If the latter, could you have moved around the cactus to use it more effectively to frame that view? I definitely would remove the out of focus plant stalk to the left of the cactus. The image is weighted right and perhaps cropping off some of the left would improve that balance. |

What a wonderful visa that you captured! What impresses me is the size of the crater. The clouds nicely edge the top of the image. I see only one image spot about 4 fingers in from that left below the clouds that should be removed. Nicely shot and processed. |

You can get enough red barns! This contrast is fantastic and the balance right on. Instant fave! The snow is white. All around a wall hanger! |

There's a lot of pop to this image! The leading line from the bridge to the houses and down to the windmill work well. Congrats on getting rid of the tourists on the bridge. The clouds also do well in bringing the eye down into the image. I guess I would have taken one image at a faster shutter speed to get a still tree for the upper right and masked it but the idea to fill that area was a good one. The colors are wonderful! |

I agree with Charles about b&w versus color. You did a lot of right things in the color version, in which I love the water and the contrasts between light and shadow. The b&w version to be successful would need darker shadows on the rock, especially at right that would bring out the tree more. I like the river leading line and the V cuts in the gorge and the sky. Were you in the water to take the shot? This is well composed! |
