Always great to experiment. Not acquainted with this style of photography but I'm sure you can be refined and what you want to reflect setup for a keen interest point. |

Wow, that's on my bucket list. Nice PP on the lake. Love the composition and the rim bringing you back around. I would have darkened the highlights just over the mountains and definitely removed the pine branch at top left. The swirly clouds are magnificent! |

Try f9 and at least 1250 shutter speed, it's what worked well for me in sports with a 2.8 200 zoom lens. You did a great job with the crop and bring out the bird design on the jets! With air shows I use minimum 200 zoom but usually use my 600 so I can go 400-600 as needed. You've cropped to put the jets on the 1/3 line but to my eye I'd crop off some of the left size and some of the top. Your clouds and sky are perfect! |

Nice job in PP. Watercolor works so well on portraits, nice choice! I would opt for lightening of the face and arms but especially the shaded side of the face. I'm sure you'll refine your technique and surprise us with a masterpiece in the future! |

Terrible when 25% are purposely lit -- similar to our California fires. Tragedy for the environment. What are those purple flowering trees in the photo? The only thing I'd do is edit out the post top at the far left. You certainly got that haze effect haha! |

I have squared the image, created a sphere of blue around the lighted tree in Lightroom and added a vignette. Thoughts? |

Out of focus doesn't crank it for me. But I know what you're trying to do. I could put a darker/bluer tone to everything else around the illuminated tree. Also cropping off some of the left to the foreground tree may improve the image. Thanks for the intriguing thought! |

Are you also a painter? The main focus of the show is the painting and the rest background. I would have lined up the painting with the background so the viewer could compare the landscapes. There is circular flow in the image which is great. The layers in this image are good and I know from shooting the Smokies, you get that haze all the time. I may have toned down the blue in the sky and mountains a tad. Overall, I like this image. |

Nice job on the image! I like what you did in the upper 1/3 and don't mind the color pop at all. Since I'm into woodlands, my eye says to crop off the image at left almost to the tallest building. I really like the layers you caught! This image tempts me to come to Portland. |

Wow, I love the sky! My first reaction is what is the main focus of the image? If it is the cliff face at left, then this is fine. If it is down the valley with the river, then I'd crop off at the taller pine tree at lower almost middle position. If it is the middle mountain, then crop off some of the right. You cold have 3 different photos from this one image! All good. |

Charles, really like the mood you captured. Was it snowing or did you add the effect? Either way, it is perfect. I like living on the "dark side" too. The only part of the building I would brighten slightly is the tower and the maple (?) tree to its left in the foreground as that's where my eye goes. Otherwise, you caught the mood and that makes it a great image! |

You can never go wrong with fishing! The colors in the reflected water is outstanding. I would have softened the trees themselves as my eye is attracted to the reflection and the boat. I would edit out the power pole and lines at the 1/3 right side. I really like the weeds at the bottom to frame the image. The softened clouds at top are perfect! |
