Sanford, I do have another one where the locomotive is just coming onto the bridge at right - it was actually going in reverse over the bridge! |

Nice composition. I would have edited out the top twig at right as it doesn't tough the reed patch. I may have softened up the contrast and maybe added a slight blur since it is b&w for a great impact, but that's my eye. You've inspired me to look for the simply elements with a monotone eye! |

The feather detail is what sells this image to me, superb! The eye and beak are also well focused. Very nice PP on this. |

I like the silhouette effect and the "Comfort Inn" sun (that's a hotel chain in the US). I would suggest a 16x9 crop with the sun more to the right (see below). Other input here is correct that with some post processing in Lightroom you can add some definite impact and Wow to this image. A good photo to start a PP journey with. Please play with it and share your end result with us down the line, I'd love to see the improved version! |

Love the shadows and the sand, so I would have opted for a 16x9 crop to those elements of the image - an image within your image! What a great trip to have gone on, I'm jealous! Look forward to you sharing more images from it. |

Love the retro look. I would have taken a wider photo to allow for a more horizontal alignment in the final photo and maybe cropped a small bit off the top of the image (though it balances the shading at the bottom) and filled in the white streak at top left. The retro makes it looks so much more inviting! Did you go up that stairway? |

I apologize for my tardiness, life took me in different directions. I like the tight crop with my journalistic eye, cropping to the action as they say. Very early morn might be the best time to catch this photo to play with angles and such. The background buildings are fantastic. The cameo appearance of the woman can easily be edited out but she does give a nice sense of perspective. |

Window curtain, what do you think orange or white? I'm thinking white to go with the washed out wood. |

Great capture especially the colors in the sky and water reflection and the clouds really cooperated with you! Also the layers add dimension to the image. Kudos! |

Silky water, starburst lights, a sharply focused bridge all make this an enchanting image. Were the lights really that bright and white? I guess to make it more romantic I may have decreased the brightness of the lighted buildings so there would be a yellow glow. But it is a fantastic image regardless of my suggestion. |

What a great image of downtown! A very nice cityscape and it is very well focused. I would make this a 16x9 for mat and that leaves enough of the clouds at top. The bridge at right bothers me ... IMHO I would crop t right of the tallest building so there'd be only one V tapering in the skyline image. At minimum I'd lop off the right from the red brick building at the start of the bridge. As i said, everything is so keenly in focus and presents a wide degree of architectural designs. Nice capture! |
