Yeah, I was on a walking tour, not a lot of time for setups ... stop, shoot and catch up to the pack. Not the best way to shoot and you get what you get. These buildings are hundreds of years old, so much shifting with foundations, doorsteps, etc. I tried 4-5 horizontal lines in these door images and all but one usually kicked the image dramatically. Stephen I'll try your tip in Lightroom. |

I'll try darkening the treeline with a brush in LR. Thanks for the suggestion! |

Love these kinds of photos. Very well done, nice capture and PP. For my eye, I'd crop off the building masonry and the lights and opt for a 16x9-ish image area for an impressionistic look. Great colors. |

I agree that I don't know what the focus of the image is. The bridge shifts the image to the right so are you trying to focus on the buildings and activity there? I'd maybe crop off the left half of the images and start at the 2 people sitting together on the knoll to the right. I like the shadows on the grass and the sky. |

Another site on my bucket list! I think it's very well done. So much to see and reflect on ... I really like those grass lines. My eye would have the image squared from the tallet pine at left to the tallest at right and I would crop off most of the weed cover at the bottom - but that's my taste. Nicely focused. It's a wall hanger! |

First off, I'm jealous. If I were to go to NZ I'd spend a lot of time trout fishing with a camera around my neck! I agree with what Gary did at the right of the image with. Great DOF. Impressive image! |

Very nicley done. I'd get rid of the small branch at the top to the right of the first lamp post. I like the coloration of buildings and concrete at left. What is the focus of the image? For me it would be the fog and the bridge and I think you lightened it too much. If this were a real estate photo emphasizing the buildings, then that would be a different story in my opinion, and you did want to emphasize the buildings per your intro. I'm going to have to look into that ON1 software. |
