Thanks Marilyn. BTW, you might be interested in the fact that your name is the same as my wife's daughter's middle name (full name is Jennifer Marilyn Ross). |

Well done Marilyn. We used to go to this place (and Green Cay) but have now gotten too old and don't travel as much. They are great bird photograpy spots. |

I like this, Leslie. Yes, in our experience here red winged blackbirds can be aggressive at times. |

Good capture of the bird in flight. The bright colors of the flowers are a bit distracting but would be a good subject for another picture; too bad you didn't capture the bird when it was flying past the greenery I see in the original above. |

Well done, Ted. I also have never seen this bird. I would suggest cropping to a horizontal with the bird in the upper 1/3 point. |

Maybe a horizontal crop? |

Thanks Tom and Mike. I must admit I kept the edge of the pool in simply to illustrate to everyone where I found the ducks. I knew all along that this was not a nature scene , also there are the reflections that are impossible to remove in a realistic fashion. It is definitely better with the crop and a bit of texture. |

Thanks Ted. I left my image this way just to show that they were actually in a swimming pool. Not intended to be nature competition material. |

Thanks Leslie. You're right, I can get really great images from my iPhone, though the quality diminishes at the telephoto end, and of course really long telephoto as when we're photographing birds in earnest is impossible. |

Brad, I believe the difference in haze levels was caused by the direction of the sun illuminating the gorge when I took this shot. |

I know a lot of what you've gone through with prostate cancer because I had it. Having lost my first wife to colon cancer back in 1988, I opted fast for surgery and it was successful.
I've never been to Bryce Canyon but know it well from many pictures I've seen through the years and this image does it very well. I really cannot offer any suggestions for improevement. |

Interesting. I think I would try to concentrate on the circular structure and try to darken this a bit, |

Rick, the scene came out well with trying the different options that Aurora HDR provides. There are so manyu presets in Aurora that it can really be hard to hit on the best option. I would tone down the saturation of the sky a bit (or try a replacement as you suggest).

Well done Brad. The boulder in the front provides an anchor point that helps lead the eye into the scene. Lightroom HDR can do a good job and renders the need for tone mapping software less urgent than it once was. I'm curious what's supposed to be in that hole on the right. |
